Re: To Wind Watch or Watch Winder

You can’t overwind an automatic. It has a clutch which disengages the rotor when the main spring achieves full torque. Edit: sorry, I’ve been contributing to this thread for quite a while so perhaps I can say this with impunity... I have been winding watches, manual and automatic for over 50 years ...

Some are willing to declare 25% less the actual price so that you could pay less duty tax.

One has to be very wary of that practice as it will also lower the insurance value and thus C24 compensation value if it all goes wrong.

Re: Chrono24

I have both bought and sold on the platform. I found it very good, the Treuhand service works well both ways and prices (after a bit of haggling) much more to my taste than elsewhere, though as always one has to be discriminating, dyor and take your time. An unequivocal  from me. Treuhand ...

Re: To Wind Watch or Watch Winder

It seems what would be ideal is for a winder that lets you input how many winds per day you want it to do. Then you figure out how many winds you need to keep that particular movement in its "sweet spot" and only have the winder run that many revolutions. Hand winding not only puts potential ware o...

Having never considered a single hander, I am now convinced they make perfect sense in the right circumstances, bravo.

Cool!

Re: To Wind Watch or Watch Winder

All things being equal, Steve is correct that a watch should run faster as it runs out of power for the reason he states. To chime in on winders, I use a 4 hole winder because I wear up to three watches a day and I don't want to be setting them if they have stopped, thus keep them running. When a pa...

Re: C8 Power Reserve in Steel

I'm debating adding a CW to my collection, and the one that has sparked my interest is the C8 Power Reserve in Steel. At $1875 its a significant purchase to me without being able to try one on in person. I like the looks and the fact that it has the CW in house movement. Any one dealt with one of t...

Re: C8 Power Reserve in Steel

I have had one for two years. Simply, put CWE at its best. If I had to choose just one CW, this would be it. In the last month mine has gained 6 seconds while running continuously, though not necessarily worn, just wound more or less daily. The dial is a work of art, only appreciated in the flesh a...

Re: CWL of the day

Sooo tempted to get the steel and have the pair. I purposely put my last purchase on a 6 month, 0 interest payment plan just to slow things down. So far so good....It's been 2 weeks. Re: C60 Trident Pro 600 - Accuracy

That's the good bit, the bad bit is i wish i wish i had gone for the 42mm. Yes i know that this 40mm actually does fit my wrist probably better than all the other watches i have owned, in fact the way the strap falls from the lugs around the wrist is just perfect. BUT, to me it does look a touch sm...
