Re: The Curmudgeons Corner

I personally couldn’t buy a watch that could be out by 20 seconds a day. This point was made on another thread, and rather than derail that thread, I felt compelled to vent here. A few years ago I started an expensive journey buying a brand of watches which uses only Chronometers (no, not Rolex) an...

Re: How do you get dust off your watch

I saw a clip from the Watch Studio where he meticulously cleans the watch, blows the evading dust away, and still has to do a Photoshop cleanse.

I just use a microfibre cloth. Not perfect, but good enough for me.

Re: Non CW of the Day

I've been working in the garden, this afternoon and walked into my garage. For a Stealth watch I must say that the lume is really impressive. Guy Sent from my XPERIA 5 III using Tapatalk That is impressive. I find the lume on the hands doesn’t match that under the dial. Your photos suggest it is ju...

Re: NationOfLaws SOTC - June 2022

Nice collection. The Tudor Sub & the Oris Artelier are the picks for me, but I am a bit of an Oris fan.

The “Other Brands” section of this forum has been a terrific source of interesting brands to investigate as you seems to be finding out? Fun, isn’t it?

Re: eBay / Chrono24 / other?

I’m not one for FB but Iain suggested a group when I was trying to sell a watch here with no luck I can only speak for myself with only one experience but it was very friendly with a great result  As Iain said there’s quite a few members here that are on other platforms and I received some...

Re: eBay / Chrono24 / other?

I’ve used eBay a few times. I wait for a special listing fee offers - they come regularly - otherwise ebay charges about 10% of the sale value. For sales over £1,500 eBay mandates an authentication service. I’ve used it once, and it worked out perfectly, the only downside is a couple of days delay. ...

^^ Boorish people who say “you shouldn’t be so sensitive” or “where’s your sense of humour?” when they insult someone. Twits.

Re: How often do you look at your movements?

Often. Some may say too often. Sometimes the rotor gets in the way, but that’s fine by me. 13B115C7-F537-450F-9385-36B15EC430C3.jpeg 26AD667E-AC8A-4510-BDB6-B9CE2E41770B.jpeg 6BCC642C-36D3-4CC6-96A3-71E7A90C2BDB.jpeg 53211066-8C91-4A6D-B643-88036740ED41.jpeg 137DBD41-F02D-4DC1-B634-DB18448CAB5E.jpeg...

Re: CWL of the day

Today’s choice, for the 2nd of my 3 days in London. The photo was taken as I left home 😢. OG Swish-only, a sign of what was to come, eventually. The 4 part case is fabulous, and that wobble….

Re: Oris x Cervo Volante 38mm Big Crown Pointer Date

I saw this in “blue” in the window of my local Beaverbrooks. It looked a bit small for me, but a really lovely turquoise dial.

The cervo volante story is praiseworthy too.

Well done sir. I logged in just to give you a like for this. If you are a professional comedian you should retire now, because you won’t ever tell a better joke.

Re: The Bargain Hunters Thread

KW seems like the kind of seller that buys mostly limited editions and wait list watches and prays they go up in price. Kibble is a dealer in used watches, and I understand he has a decent reputation. He also sells on behalf of his customers, and takes a sale fee. He has some interesting items from...

I've selected a bit of two-tone steel and gold in the guise of my Breitling Cockpit Chronograph for this evening's Platinum Party at the Palace. Only watching on TV mind. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220604/2510c60d6f0cb76a605dfc14627f147d.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220604/e10165f...
