Re: Sizing a bracelet

If it’s a CW SS it’s a pain, because they use pin and collar links. I find it almost impossible with a changing tool like the one below and I’d find it fully impossible without it: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Removal-Adjuster-Bracelet-Remover-Repair/dp/B01M0V03X9 The pins in the tool are too short to p...

Re: Hello... the "Sale/Clearance" page has been pulled....

Could it simply be that they’ve sold everything that will sell, and the 2 unloved chronometers will go back down the back of the sofa to be forgotten about for another few months?

Re: C60 Trident Pro 600 with wave pattern dial

Welcome. One of the forum’s historians will be able to give you dates, but the model you show looks like the last model Mk2.5 C60 Trident in 43mm. It has only just become the ‘last model’, about a month ago. If you’re lucky, you may find these on the CW website in the clearance section, but you’ll c...

Re: If Carlsberg made watches to be unloved.......

What makes the Mk2.1 cost £100 more on the RRP than the Mk2.2. Usually the price goes up about 5% on new releases. I think one of the reasons for these being unloved is that there’s little to differentiate them on the outside to the standard releases at £1000 less. The lack of half an index at 3 doe...

Re: Prize Winning Trident

Thanks Ian - always good to read review with the owner’s opinions after some period of living with watch. This release has been discussed at length, and a lot of opinions were given, from me included, having only seen the teaser pictures. I must say, my opinion of the Mk3 has changed a little for th...

Re: Nearly New watches onsite 2

As always with these sales you have to be quick. See, buy then decide is often the only way. If you change your mind you have 60 days unworn to return. Obviously some logistical and tax challenges for the non-EU buyers, but from recent posts it sounds like the return / tax reclaim procedure is at le...

Re: Collector’s dilemma...Do you wear ‘em all?

I make a point of wearing them in rotation. Not according to a schedule, but I do pick out one I haven’t worn for a while quite frequently, which means most get worn now and again. There are a few exceptions - I have a couple I’ve become less interested in (I should sell them), and my small vintage ...

Re: Ooh la la! 'French Style' straps

Couldn't help noticing this one star review on Watchgecko site….. "Too bad these look like a direct rip off of the Erika's Originals MN straps which are supposed to be protected by international patent. Watch Gecko makes some good straps, but they should be ashamed of themselves, and take these off...

Re: Coffee machines woes.

Great post! Sorry to hear of your troubles though. I’ve seen the Nespresso Vertuo a couple of times and been impressed (sampled the coffee on both occasions!) especially at the appealing price, which as you say includes £50 worth of pods. I have a Nespresso Latissima, which uses the smaller pods. It...

Re: Classic Aviator Chronographs

Ever considered a Sinn 103 Guy? They describe it as a “Pilot Chronograph”. It houses a 7750, has screw down crown and pushers, and a countdown bezel. Here’s a picture of mine, which is getting on a bit, but they’re bulletproof. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190519/e6033d0a0921160f25591298077371...

Re: Mk3 Trident Christopher Ward logo/txt

^^^^You are not alone. This has been discussed at length, and there are members who have turned away from the brand because of the placement or the form of the wordmark or both. There’s a thread below which covers a lot of this discussion, and this isn’t the only thread where there have been extensi...

Re: MKIII 40 vs. 42mm

It’s very subjective. Do you like them big? It looks like you do. By way of comparison, I have smaller wrists than you (17.5 cm) and I can wear a the Mk2 C60 in 43mm but it’s at my limit. I used to think 40mm was my sweet spot but actually I would now say 41mm (yes, I know it’s only 1mm). So - if yo...

Suggestions - deployant clasps?

I’m looking for an 18mm push-button deployant clasps for use with leather straps. I don’t need anything high-end, but I’m looking for decent quality. Amazon & Ebay are flooded with them for a few pounds, but reviews are mixed - some are very positive but others mention rough edges, poor catches. Doe...

Re: how reliable are the new microbrands?

As with every market there are good and bad. Magrette and Zelos are examples of the good (I would say very good), but the same can most definitely not be said for all microbrands. There are so many out there, and I’ve read lots of feedback, good and bad, but I don’t have personal experience of any o...
