Re: Second hand c65 trident problem, advice needed!

As a seasoned second hand watch buyer, I’ve been unlucky about 2-3 times and my watch needed a service. I have also had maybe 5-6 fixes under warranty from CW. For me, I feel like a re homing service for neglected CWs. I will say I’ve always had great service from CW and I would recommend sending to...

Re: Hour hand design

I’ve been staring at my C63 36mm for about 10 minutes! At first I didn’t get it, but now I see and I actually prefer this finish, at a glance you get a great play with light, matching the light catcher case.

Re: 25.1.24 teaser

I’m afraid I’m on the band wagon of CWF opinion here, but really why change something that is utterly perfect already?! Because it's not perfect for many people who have a skinny wrist?? If the 36mm size is too small for you - then it's not meant for you?? Sorry @johncolescarr - I'm absolutely not ...

Re: 25.1.24 teaser

I’m a proud owner of a CW C63 36mm three hander, I bloody adore the thing, I wear it every single day and twice on Sundays. However for this particular model I’d choose the 39mm. If case shrinkage were to be applied I would rather see it on the dune or military series. A 35-36mm sandhurst, yes pleas...

Re: What's your accuracy?

I have picked up a C63 36mm. I wear it constantly, only take it off to shower.

Let’s put it this way, I can mostly wait til I need to adjust the date, or DST, before I have to adjust the time.

My honeymoon period on this watch seems to just keep going…

Re: WR testing by CW after repair/service

Water resistance testing is an emotive subject as can be clearly seen by this thread. The reality is, unless your watch is ISO certified, my understanding is it’s up to the manufacturers discretion how it is tested. The water resistance rating on non certified watches is a product of the design that...

Re: Watch size

I tried the 300 in 38mm on my 7 inch wrist and found it too small, despite being totally fine with a 36mm sealander and 35mm prx.

My opinion is go with 40mm, it’s most likely to get the best fit. A watch with a rotating bezel usually appears smaller on wrist as the dial is smaller.

Re: Near Disaster

Glad you’ve escaped unscathed! I was not so lucky with my C65 vintage mk2 with the push pull crown (a backward step from the screwed in crown of the mk1), i fastidiously used to check the crown position but alas, after swimming and a cold morning walk the day after, there was fogging in the glass. I...

Re: C60 Trident Pro: Blue Or Black?

I’d vote blue if they matched the date wheel to the dial colour, this also goes for the black as the date wheel is matt vs polished dial

Finding contentment in watches

For the first time in a long time, I’m in a happy place with my collection right now. I’ve mentioned several time in this forum my frenetic buying and selling episodes. If I’m perfectly honest, this is probably a result of unhappiness elsewhere rather than in my watches. A case in point, I must have...

Re: A Sunday morning coffee question

Coffee ranks joint first in my idiosyncratic hobbies alongside watches. I am a strictly espresso man, after a life affirming experience several years ago in a coffee shop in Leeds. My personal set up is a delonghi dedica (bought for £40 off eBay) a bottomless portafilter (£20 Amazon) and a Timemore ...

Re: Time for a new CW dress watch?

Hi Mark, I’ve had very similar thoughts to you I always find the dress watch category very hard to pin down. My idea of a dress watch is a white dialled sub 40mm slim case, polished, with leather strap, but for others, what I would call a field watch or even a sport watch with metal bracelet and col...

Re: Foggy dismay

An update: CW techs have assessed the watch, the water resistance is intact, so the conclusion is water ingress through the crown. Being pedantic about crown position when swimming, I’m surprised by the result. The repair cost is akin to a service and is called a movement and hand repair, so I’m gue...

Re: Wrist Watch Fatigue?

I had a similar experience a few months ago, my larger (read 40mm C60) was becoming uncomfortable during extended wears. My issue was a skin sensitivity one and wearing the bracelet would leave my wrist sore, like it was rubbing on my skin. I also changed to rubber when I experienced this but I was ...
