Re: New CW Sealander Chronograph

I think this is priced slightly high (only because it’s going to be just high enough to trigger a duty fee to the US). I think if I was in the market for a chrono (I’m not) then this would be under consideration. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk The most expensive version on the Consort bracelet ...

Re: New CW Sealander Chronograph

I might have to order one of these. A good looking thin quartz with a thermo-compensated movement. On a side note. Mike France to CW marketing team. We ordered a boat load of casebacks with the Queens Crown on them and it's going to cost us a lot of money to change it now. Figure out a way to use th...

Re: Non CW of the Day

Too lazy to set a mechanical watch this morning, so quartz to the rescue.

Re: New CW Sealander Chronograph

I think it will be a good seller if it is a quartz Chronograph. Of all the different types of watches, chronographs tend to benefit the most from using a quartz movement. Mechanical chronographs are typically bigger, heavier, and more expensive than their three handed or GMT counterparts. Having a q...

Re: New release Dune GMT

This feels so tacky. It's obviously trying to draft the film - dropping the day before it hits theaters, mirroring shots from the film, and even aping the title treatment by being *just different enough.* The result is that it comes off as the wish version of a better watch that can't stand on its ...

Hopefully you are up to date on your vaccines and wore two sets of gloves while cleaning off the "who knows what."

Re: C8 Pilot Revival Clean Up

What kind of disgusting individual sells a watch in that condition without cleaning it up first. If I received a watch in that condition, I would clean, sanitize, and nuke it before immediately getting rid of it. There's no way I would wear something in that condition even after a clean. The mind bo...

Re: CW not refunding duties on watch that arrived faulty and was returned

This thread reminds me of a discussion we had a long time ago about CW having a presence in the USA in the future. I think it is time CW took one of their largest markets more seriously and warehouse stock in the USA for dispatch to USA, Canada, Mexico, and South America. They are a much larger comp...

Buying watches before the Internet

I saw a post today on Instagram that showed pictures of F1 drivers advertising various products over the years, several of which were watches. It got me thinking about how different it is today to get the information you need to make a watch purchase. Before the Internet we would rely on magazine ar...

Re: Am I overdoing it? Will I get banned by CW?

Then where does all the ‘nearly new’ pieces from the sale come from? Nearly new pieces have usually been used for reviews or photoshoots While that is part of the story for certain, I think there are far too many watches available in the sales and available long after release for this to be the ent...

Here’s a good starting point. Can’t go wrong with Filson.

What’s the bourbon? I might pour myself a glass to celebrate your day in spirit!
Nothing fancy, just a drop of Bulleit bourbon :)

Re: Buy a new luxury watch or...... ?

So today was the day I took the plunge and started spending my watch savings on clothes and footwear. I started the day by ordering a pair of Grant Stone Diesel boots in Horween Chromexcel leather as they finally came back in stock today. Then another order of Thursday sneakers in dark brown waxed f...

Re: Buy a new luxury watch or...... ?

Did somebody say nice shoes?! This is the first time since last spring that I’ve actually worn a pair of my nice shoes to school (it’s been Bass Weejuns all semester). I’ve forgotten how much I love a quality pair of shoes! Happy hunting! IMG_9408.jpeg Thanks for all of the information and links. I...
