Re: Jeff Pike (Pikey) - 2021

Any chance you could list the ones you have there in the picture? I'm intrigued by the green bezel motorsport model. Its a Tissot V8 :D I bought it because it has a 1/10th of a second chronograph - my wife does a pit board for me when I race motocross, she uses it to time the intervals. Well - used...

Our labrador Stirling, not long after we’d just got him last year:

And now, 18 months later he’s a handsome chap:

And here’s the DIY-D01, which isn’t all that spectacular, but was fun to learn to build it. I chose the orange second hand to give it a bit of extra interest 🙂

This one is all genuine Seiko, SKX007. Now discontinued, ones like this in good original condition are rapidly appreciating in value. I change the straps frequently, the original dive strap is safe in the box 🙂

Steeldive 1970 ‘Captain Willard’ with a rubber strap and Seiko dial and hands. I don’t feel too guilty about putting the Seiko dial on this, as it does have a Seiko movement (NH35) 🙂

Aviation watches

How come CW have stopped making pilots watches? Are there any plans to make more in the future? C8 Power Reserve Chronometer was a particular favourite, really wished I'd bought one. I have a C1000 Typhoon which although its a really nice watch I'm going to sell in the near future, looking to buy a ...

Re: C65 AM GT Limited Edition

How does the chronograph work? The description says ‘small seconds’ - so the 6 o clock dial is seconds not chronograph minutes (?) but there’s a white and a red second hand so are they two separate chronograph hands, and if so how do they work? Sorry it’s late and I’m being thick and I can’t work it...

Re: C1000 Typhoon chronograph question

My Monaco doesnt do it, and also my Seiko VK64-powered Straton doesnt do it either. I'm considering selling the Straton, and getting one of their new 'Legera Bullhead' watches, which comes with the 7750 movement. I'd probably then be happy to sell the C1000 and get one of CW's lovely dress watches. ...

C1000 Typhoon chronograph question

I have this watch: https://www.christopherward.co.uk/c1000-typhoon-fgr4-ceramic-raf-version-1bb760 My favourite part about it, is the chronograph minute counter displaying exact minutes, ie it ticks onto the next minute every revolution of the chronograph second hand. I dont know of another automati...

Minute hand slow to respond when setting time

I'll start by saying the watch in question (my Tag Heuer Monaco) keeps very accurate time. When you pull the crown out, you seem to be able to turn the crown a fair bit in either direction before the hands start moving. Which I think is fairly normal going by the other autos I have, maybe a bit more...

C1000 crown replacement?

My C1000 Typhoon has a smooth crown, which is really quite difficult and slightly annoying to grip when winding the watch manually. I was wondering if a serrated edge crown would fit from the new C8 series of watches? They look similar. And if so, can you just pull the old one off and push the new o...
