Re: Return/Refund and USA Import Duty

After this experience, I will not purchase another CWL watch until they have USA based warehousing/shipping/returns in place. Many other brands already have USA operations, even if the USA is not their largest market, so IMHO it is simply not worth the hassle of purchasing from UK based CWL as a US...

Re: Return/Refund and USA Import Duty

As prices creep ever higher, this thread (and related ones) only serve to confirm that my purchase of a 36mm C63 a few years ago is likely the last CW purchase I’ll make. The import duty is a deal breaker, not in terms of cost, but in terms of complication if one needs to return the watch. Given the...

Re: The Curmudgeons Corner

Nothing like getting the paperwork confirming loss of health coverage AFTER my health coverage with my previous employer ended. This has created a one month gap in health insurance before my coverage begins under my wife’s health insurance. Thankfully, I can take advantage of COBRA to cover that one ...

Re: The Lume Shot of the Day

One of my favorite things about the C63 is the blue lume. I love this hint of blue shining through against the white dial after getting just a quick hit of sunlight.

I put this back on the Bader bracelet as a change of pace from the Consort.

Re: Why for me there isn't a ONE WATCH

Buying, owning and selling watches, for me is all part of this mad hobby I think this is a critically important point, and illustrates the key difference between someone who has a couple of watches versus someone who collects watches. I have six watches, but I’m never on the hunt for “just one more...

Re: Why for me there isn't a ONE WATCH

For me it’s purely down to emotional attachments to certain watches. My El Primero and my IWC mark XVIII remind me of my mum and daughter respectively. I could probably live with my Ingenieur as a one watch but could never sell the other two. You’ve got a killer little collection! It’s one of my fa...

Re: CW seconde/seconde/ collaboration

My partner and I are like this with food. £20 for a new tshirt? This one isn't wearing thin enough yet. £200 for an epic meal - TAKE OUR MONEY. Common sense goes completely out of the window. It’s all relative. I’ll drop $200 for one meal without batting an eye while complaining about another that ...

Re: 10 years on - thoughts about a One Watch

I think I’ve reached a point where I might struggle to identify The One in my collection. I go long stretches with just one watch, but invariable start to get a bit bored and switch things up. But is that more because I can switch things up? If my C65 Trident Vintage were my only watch, would I be p...
