Re: Luxury watches...worth it?

The short answer would be yes, by evidence of this forum and others like it. Clearly, to us, luxury watches are worth it. I think this is less about watches specifically though, and more about luxury items in general. And the end of the day, this is a purely subjective impression based on ones own i...

Where is the logo on the series 5? Logo placement is critical for me! ;-)

Re: C65 Anthropocene Limited Edition

This watch on the leather looks fantastic to me. I quite like the contrast of the black date wheel. As I look at it though, I can’t help but wish there was an option to get a green bezel. I’d be throwing my money at CW if that was the case. Brown leather strap, white dial, and green bezel are a beau...

Re: Advice please

Hi I'm new here and after some advice for a nice watch for my husband. I have up to £1000 to spend and his friend suggested I look at Christopher Ward and a few other makes. What can you recommend please thankyou As a husband, I applaud you for taking such an initiative in researching a gift for yo...

Good point Andrew (ref. your edited post).
I edited my original post after reading your comment on another thread about scorn and sarcasm in responses. I want to be part of the solution, not the problem!

Re: Strap Colour Question.

If your budget allows, the Hirsch performance range is fantastic. Caoutchouc rubber underside meaning it will last longer than a regular leather strap. Also fully waterproof. The 'Ayrton' model has a carbon fibre finish which would compliment the motorsport theme pretty well. +1 for the Hirsch perf...

Not fantastic! This thread has just probably cost me 600 quid!
I hear you! It’s taken tremendous discipline for me to refrain from buying one.

Re: Two New Beauties from Seiko

Can anyone explain the “open 6” reference the author makes? It's the fact that the stroke that is used to scribe the six doesn't meet itself and "close". Same as on the CW C65 divers. That’s it?! From the context of the comment, I thought maybe there’d be some obscure story about its origins.

Two New Beauties from Seiko

I’m quite taken with both of these. Looks local Japanese market only though?

Can anyone explain the “open 6” reference the author makes?

Re: Rubber strap recommendations for my first CW!

I picked the Hirsch Arne performance strap for my C65 Trident Vintage and absolutely love it. A bit over your price point (by $10) but totally worth it. It's a sailcloth textured, waterproof leather bonded to a natural rubber. It's waterproof, incredibly comfortable, and not hot at all in the summer...

Re: Loupe #14 | Autumn 2019

^^ now that’s an excellent and constructive post. DavecUK, I’m glad to have you on the forum! As I commented on an earlier post of your, your observations about the QC/CS issues are accurate and move the conversation forward. I think I would eagerly sign up for a program you suggested. I look forwar...
