Re: This or that

I voted to keep the Alpinist. Not a major fan of homage watches, but the Smiths does have a charm that is difficult to ignore. Having said that, the SARB on bracelet (such as the Strapcode oyster) would get my vote all day long. Improves the look 10-fold for me. Best of luck with the decision :thumb...

Orient almost got it right! 36mm Bambino

For those who think the Bambino is a tad too large for the style of watch (myself included), Orient recently introduced a 36mm "ladies" version. Perfect size for an all dial watch I'd say, BUT ... they've opted for a 17mm lug width :problem: :? Nevertheless, could be of interest to some ... https://...

Re: Alpina Startimer crown issue

So after 11 weeks away, my watch should be back with me later this week.

Although I'm still keen to hear from other Startimer owners re. the crown action (and I know you're out there!)

I know you've got the watch back on your wrist, but that is a shambles

Re: Advice for someone with a 6.5 inch / 165 mm wrist

My wrists are 6", so I may be a good reference for you. About ~50mm minimum across the top of my wrist. I owned the C65 GMT and I found the case and lug dimensions to be great. It helps that it curves and hugs the wrist as well. Beautiful watch, but I eventually sold it as I found the dial/crystal d...

It has happily survived regular trips to the Isle of Skye, Snowdonia and the Lake District.

Would seem strange to me to wear a dive watch on a mountain.

This made me chuckle. Shows how much thought we put into this strange hobby!

Re: Non CW of the Day

Even though I haven’t worn this since early February, it remains one of my “would never sell” watches. :) Neil BUT, if you ever do have crazy thoughts ... I'll get onto the old man about taking an early inheritance  Seriously though, the polar is one Rolex I could see myself living in. Yours l...

Owned this G-100 for >5 years, but recently sold it to a mate ...

And replaced it with this GW-M5610. A little more wearable on my wrists!

Re: Diver shortlist and some convincing needed

I'll have to read 'em rules, but I'm not sure why you can't post a WTB if you can purchase through Sales Corner after 5 :? I do however understand the higher count required for listing items for sale. It really doesn't take long to reach the 50 post count if you hang around and participate in things...

Anonimo Nautilo Vintage

Saw this a few days ago as my dive watch 'research' continues and thought I'd share it with you. I've stumbled upon Anonimo watches in the past and really liked the look of their divers, but they've always been >44mm. Some may know that Anonimo are an Italian company setup by employees from the old ...

Re: Diver shortlist and some convincing needed

I wouldn't have thought you'd need convincing to add a Trident to a list that contains Timefactors and Roamer. I mean no disrespect to those brands, but their dive watches can't hold a candle to the current C60 600. Imo, apart from some of Seiko's more expensive offerings, I don't think any of those...

Re: Kickstarter: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

I really should do. I'd previously looked at their Nanok, but missed the H2. Oh well, something else will come along hopefully. For the first time since starting this mucky habit, I am 'diverless' and I don't feel entirely comfortable with the situation if I'm being honest  Could do with a fix ...
