Re: A new watch for myself!

The white hands look fine to me, edged with black. The watch is wonderful, especially with the black hands. There’s been quite a conversation in another thread about readability with white dials. I believe the hands on these are polished like the C60. Just the lighting making them look dark. Still,...

Re: Wall Art for the Watch Obsessed

They'll do nicely when I win the lottery and have my own walk-in watch wardrobe.

They are pretty cool, although a notable absence being the ubiquitous 2824.

Re: CWL of the day

^^^ looks great on that strap Ferg

New CW hybrid arrived. Could maybe do with being a smidge thicker at the lugs for the MK2, but still a great strap.

Congratulations G, that is lovely. I would gladly take any of those top 3, but the shimmering dial on yours is quite stunning!

Re: Cartier Tank Replacement Strap?

^^^^ Clever and distinctive, worth a premium. Just taking a quick look at the Cartier UK site seems the straps are about £150? If that's correct Cartier are not out of line with other high end houses or the quality strap people - if that makes you feel any better Steve! You are correct Nick. The pr...

Re: Tribus Watches

I think a lot of the disappointment mainly boils down to the fact that members, secretly (or not), wanted to support Chris/family with their new venture. It sounds as though a couple already might be, some may be hoping to find a future model to their taste and others may feel (myself included) that...

Re: Tribus Watches

I quite like the look of the PR GMT Sport w/ orange accents. Would like to see more of that movement in other watches.

Just had a quick browse of the strap section. They have a rubber strap for £120 that the description states is "crafted from silicone".

That's got to be wrong ... surely :?

Can't fault that Paul. Simple, robust, elegant ...

What's not to like? (apart from the wait)

Re: Tribus Watches

nothing to tempt me either, quite liked the look of the red dial one till I realised the LFC tie up, which I just don't get. There isn't much to get tbh. If it's like any other football club tie-ups, Spurs-IWC, Man U-TAG etc, the brand will get coverage on the official website, stadium hoardings, m...

Re: contemplations for a smaller watch

but I'd want sufficient WR on a daily. Spend time at greater than 30m underwater daily? No, but I do shower or swim with my watch on, so a watch rated at 30m that only qualifies as splash resistant probably won't cut the mustard. The topic has been covered a few times before, but manufacturers WR r...

Re: contemplations for a smaller watch

Yeh, I was speaking from my experience of the Alpina which had a lug-lug of 42-43mm iirc. Thought Panerais also had short L-L lengths, but I jumped the gun. Having searched for the lug-lug on the Due, I can't see the size being an issue at 45.5mm. The blue is a lovely watch, but I'd want sufficient ...

Re: contemplations for a smaller watch

I didn't think they came with useable WR? 30m IIRC

On top of that, I reckon that will wear very small. The 38mm Alpina diver I owned with a similar case shape wore quite a bit smaller than a 38mm C60.

Now a 40mm Panerai, yes! And they come with 300m WR
