Re: Trident GMT running slower and slower

Since then it has slowed down more and more to the point where it now runs -24 seconds per day, and it shows no signs of settling in. Mine runs about 10-20 seconds slow per day. I had the mis-aligned GMT hand and it went back for service and they regulated while with them, but it still runs slow. I...

I would have been severely tempted if had had seen a red and white on sale.. The red and black came very close.
For me it is perfect. I can wear it with anything from suits to jeans and it has gone around the world with me. Dressy enough. Sporty enough. I like the white red.

Re: Door County Spotted!

I think you are to be congratulated sir. I've had camera lenses recognised by strangers and yesterday had a delightful (and much appreciated) 20-minute chat with two complete strangers when I recognised their Brompton bikes (a brace of?) I'd almost suggest a permanent thread for "I've been clocked"...

Door County Spotted!

Living in the States I have never spotted another CW watch, but today I was spotted! I have been wearing my Astor+Banks Sea Ranger Polar a ton during quarantine, but today looked in the box and decided it was a day for my red & white 38mm Trident GMT. Wound and set I headed out to enjoy my holiday i...

Re: Your 2893-2 / SW330 experiences

I did try leaving the hands set to home and the GMT to local, but it played tricks with my brain because I need my watch to show me mainly what the time is where I am. Secondly I didn’t really use the GMT function so decided to do without it. The only time I really travel is when I’m on holiday and...

Re: Your 2893-2 / SW330 experiences

The only problem was that it was a bit of a fiddle changing the GMT hand when you moved into another time zone. If I were to go for another GMT I think it would be a watch 28th an independent hour hand, but they are in a different ballpark price wise! Pre Covid I traveled a ton internationally and ...

Re: Observation on watches running slow

^^ ^^ KevinB Through my own personal experience of auto's, I find that there's a general behavioural trait as to whether they gain or lose time. A lot has to do with the state of the mainspring. When they are fully wound they release their energy a fraction slower, often resulting in your watch los...

Re: C65 GMT Worldtimer

I really wanted to like it from the teaser, but it just doesn't grab me. The yellow just isn't pulling me in. Maybe the strap needs some yellow? And of course, like I whinge on every CW world-timer, I'd rather see Chicago than Mexico being Chicago-based. I know that is me just rooting for my adopted...

Observation on watches running slow

I have 4 different automatic watches that hack and so I pay more attention to whether they run fast or slow after setting with time from Time.Is C60 GMT with the ETA 2893-2 C8 Flyer 38 - don't know if Sellita SW200-1 or ETA 2824 Halios Seaforth Gen 3 ETA 2824 Astor+Banks Sea Ranger Sellita SW200-1 U...

Re: Who has a Halios Seaforth on order?

Going back 18 months when I started this thread, there were quite a few likely Halios Seaforth owners on the forum as above (the pastel blue being the most popular). I wonder how many of us still have one?? I wore mine today. I have the pastel on a brown leather nato right now. I've tried mesh, but...

Those Laco's really do look nice! I've looked at them a few times and probably will go for it one of these days. Did you see the Sea Ranger from Astor + Banks? Being a Chicago guy I'm really excited by this one and should have mine soon, but I'd be curious what you thought if you saw one there. Kev...

Astor+Banks Sea Ranger

Anybody else order the Astor+Banks Sea Ranger today via Kickstarter? The Worn & Wound review was great and with them being local to me, I decided I had to have one. He sold through the first 50 at $575 within 2 hours, so not quite the Halios craziness of minutes, but I don't think he's got a hard li...

Re: How did you first hear about Christopher Ward

Started out looking for a diver to celebrate a promotion about three years back. CW was on a lot of lists for best < $1000 diver and so I started browsing and fell in love with the Red/White 38mm Trident GMT. As my mom's family is originally from Little Horwood Bucks just 30 some odd miles North of ...
