Re: New Atoll Special Edition
Having had the best part of 24 hours to consider what to do about this watch I’ve decided not to buy one. Not because it isn’t a great looking watch at a superb price – it’s all of that and probably more. Not because I don’t like the dial colour – I do really like it, it’s a great colour that remind...

Of course it will start this week, it always does when I don't have frequent access to the CW website.

Re: New Atoll Special Edition
Nice watch, personally never bought a watch that isn’t COSC or similar, how accurately do these normally run? don’t really like that it could be +\- 20 seconds per day At this price you could surely find someone to regulate it and still come out below the price of a COSC. Assuming it arrives inaccu...

Re: Wimbledon 2022 Thread
It's a shame to be missing "Homes Under The Hammer", "Bargain Hunt", "Escape to the Country" and all those other top programmes purely because Wimbledon is on.

Oohhh, I'm very confused by the 2 previous posts.
I think I need to go to buy a Sealander GMT before they change it to the TF because it's looking unlikely an applied TF will happen.

Re: In hindsight...was the Christopher Ward rebrand of 2016 a historic mistake?
I have certain models that I like and they have different “logo’s” - I think an important point to stress is that I don’t think I have ever bought or been attracted to a watch based on what the logo looks like. I buy a watch based on the watch. The features, case, dial, style, build quality, materi...

From the picture above if the whole piece was chromed they would then be place on a jig in batches (tray) of say 25. Then they would be sprayed for the ‘dead squares’. Following this either while the paint was damp or dry the ‘high area’ could be polished to remove the paint. The result would high ...

Re: Off to Maine for a week!
With that dress Mrs JKB should be going to Italy! Amalfi or Portofino. You both look very relaxed and ready for some quality time, which I hope you enjoy! I’m off to Amalfi on Friday, staying in Sorrento. But will be visiting Portofino/Pompeii/Vesuvius etc. Not our first trip as it’s an amazingly b...

CW should stop right now before the whole range is changed - the painted TF looks cheap.
If the TF is going to be the sole identifier of the brand then it should be an applied item in a default sliver finish and other finishes to suit, eg brass.

Re: Your thoughts on history class
We had to choice between History or Geography from the second year of secondary school. As my class teacher taught History many of us were cajoled into choosing that. 1. No I didn't like History classes at school. 2. I suppose it came down to the teacher really. 3. Didn't like them. 4. Disliked the ...

Re: Can you help with some research, please?
Can you help me with some research, please? 1. Did you learn about the Ancient Egyptians at school...probably primary/elementary school? Like others only the story based around Moses. 2. Do you remember the fuss over the "Treasures of Tutankhamun" exhibition at the British Museum in 1972?...

Re: The Sad Soldier
A great summation of the 2 time-lines and basically how I understand it. An interesting initial read about a statue that most of us would probably never have encountered. Then the wonders of the internet and the UK's amazing depth of documentation enabled us to discover more about several people and...

Sorry but I'm being a dog with a bone here and haven't given up........ So the visiting Land Agent is I believe Arthur Lewis Kennaway, born in mid 1881 in Garboldisham. His father was the local Clergyman and seems to have baptised his own son - How neat is that ! AL Kennaway Baptism.jpg The 1901 Cen...
