Re: F1 2020 | 2021 Motorsport Thread

Its certainly a different environment now with corporate personalities, professionalism and athleticism. Sure some of the colour and personal interest has been lost with that evolution but there's still some personalities there (I may not like all of them). Lewis does his own thing love it or hate i...

Haha, that would be pretty accurate valuation for it, despite the 'provenance 🤣

Re: Two-handers?

Second hand is compulsory for me, though sometimes its a non running (chrono hand). Could not have a watch without one as I always feel something that is the essence of a watch as a timekeeper was missing. Appreciate that's just me and great there are all options available to cater for varying taste...

Re: The value of Provenance

10 years ago I received a call from the new owners of my last house 6 months after we moved out. They found a Seiko in the flower bed in back garden and was it mine (I wandered where it had gone)? I collected it, still works and still have it but may sell for the right price, 4 figure offers accepte...

You get a CWF voucher for some special meds from Kip, Intervention is not required at this stage but the CW Forum is an active and enthusiastic support group (of enablers).
Oh and yes, you get big kudos points and a certificate in special recognition of your services to horology 😁

Re: F1 2020 | 2021 Motorsport Thread

It was a crazy race. They do need to look at the safety car restart rules though, that was a scary accident when the midfield thought Bottas has gone....but he hadn't :problem: Agreed and with Kiter65... the onboard footage particularly was scary and felt a bit like the Billy onboard. Thankfully th...

Re: Red Bezel Tridents

That red/black in SC is rather nice  I was going to create a white/red bezel but wanted something different, I was however not very brave and went with the c60 300 (quartz)to limit risk, have since done a movemwnt swap on an auto (non CW) and with either its fine as long as you do your rese...

Re: Watch buying - the questions we ask ourselves

but do you ever really get to form the kind of attachment with a well chosen watch that was part of your initial craving and that led you to the watch in the first instance? Very good question, the answer for me is invariably no I don't. 1 or 2 do and these will stay, they have an attachment for a ...

Re: Watch buying - the questions we ask ourselves

Ineresting read. Im still at the stage of, its an emotional purchase and think theres little logic that can really be applied to purchasing an outdated technology to tell the time at a luxury price point (and anything over £30-50 is luxury price point). So I purchase simply based on, do I like it, i...

Re: Steinhart Ocean 39 Marine Blue - Ltd Ed 200pcs

I can see why you like it, the blue is stunning, decent movement, quite retro cool indices, well executed. For me it just meeded to be a couple (2-3mm) larger.
Pics when it arrives please 👍

Re: Speedmaster Tokyo 2020 “Rising Sun”

Once again Gary you turn up and smash it out of the park. The rising sun is the one watch out of the Olympics collection that really appeals (red, white/silver, chrono etc.. what more is there to say) My consolidation is still ongoing but very very slowly and when completed certainly won't enable th...

Re: Tribus Watches

The yellow and teal small seconds look OK but a bit generic.. generally just.... No! Nothing about the brand, branding, marketing (and im all for a little edgy messaging), designs or value proposition appeals at the moment. Horses for courses, lots will Im sure like what they are doing and I wish ev...
