Re: White Chrono

Oh and despite the above rigid requirement, I also have a soft spot for this though haven't tried one on... Thoughts? https://wornandwound.com/review/longines-heritage-1973-review/ I have this watch and I absolutely love it. Great retro vibe but with a very impressive modern movement. Bit difficult...

Re: Grand Seiko Spring Drive SBGA405 Godzilla 65th Anniversary

I just can't get on board with the power reserves on these models. Breaks up an otherwise great dial.

Beautiful piece otherwise (price notwithstanding).

Re: FLE #8 design submissions

We're now on C60 Trident Mk3 and surely we want to move forward with the new. Many fans of the Mk1/2 don't like the Mk3 hands at all, including myself. So maybe you want to move forward with the new but I think many still prefer the classic hand design. The forum banner still shows the Mk2 classic ...

Re: Magrette Moana Pacific Waterman GMT

Ooh, quite like the "plain" bezel GMT, especially as the apparent failure of the FLE leaves a space to be filled.

The pepsi seems a bit bandwagon-y...

Re: FLE #8 - major changes

Kip, just to be clear, when you say "our window has closed [for ceramic] due to minimum requirements", do you mean that we now cannot get ceramic at all (I.e. regardless of number of buyers), or that we could still get it if we got 25+ buyers on-board? If the latter, I do think a final run-off vote ...

Re: My C65 Trident GMT isn't waterproof!

You could soak the watch in angels tears for all the good it would do. The salt will be in the movement and it will need to be stripped to flush it out. In fact, it would be far easier and more cost effective to junk the internals altogether and start afresh in the original case. I am talking about...

I've said it before (as I'm sure have others) and will say it again: just make it WARD and be done with it.

Could also, at a push, be made to match their model lines: Water Aviation Racing Dress

Re: FLE #8 - Poll #5

I’m a bit surprised by the seeming lack of interest in this bespoke project. This Trident iteration is so much more than a typical “parts bin” LE. With commitment deadlines approaching, it appears the project may not reach minimum numbers (25?} required to get it off ground if I’m understanding the...

#3 for me. Thanks for all the stellar photoshop work, too - really impressive and invaluable effort.

Re: Would you buy one of these as the next Forum Limited Edition?

^^^^ Disagree entirely. The black sweep hand is ho hum, while red lifts it out of the ordinary into something special. Too little is not enough. How about black with a red tip? For me, the black seconds hand is a much more coherent design than silver, but a splash of red might be best of both? Sent...

Re: FLE #8 - poll #2

I voted for #1. #2 is also good but the fully red second hand is just too much red. That said, I'm not too sure about having black hour and minute hands and then a silver (I think?) and red seconds hand...seems like quite a lot going on there.

Re: Would you buy one of these as the next Forum Limited Edition?

By "applied device" do you mean the twin flags? As far as I can see the flags on the C7 range look as if they are applied although I don't know if they'd be the right size for the proposed FLE GMT. Surely if they've been produced for another CW watch there'd be no need for new tooling? Am I wrong? ...

Re: Would you buy one of these as the next Forum Limited Edition?

I like the idea of an exhibition back and 300m will do fine (I actually use my dive watches for diving and I think only one or two have greater than 300m WR). Quick question, though. I agree that an exhibition back is only really worthwhile if your movement is worth looking at. So, what about a cust...

Re: Would you buy one of these as the next Forum Limited Edition?

Blackened Hands / Indicies Now, look here, chap, this really isn't on. I'd pretty much written off CW for the foreseeable as a result of the issue-that-should-not-be-discussed and had made my peace with it, as had my wallet. Then you go and do this and now I'm thinking about budgets and selling the...

How about #4 with a textured white dial (think GS snowflake / Seiko Fuyugeshiki)?
