Reports of my demise are premature
:D Hello everyone, Sorry about my absence over the last few months. The end of 2019 was spent fighting a pneumonia which took 12 weeks to throw. I'm now back on my feet and back at work, fortunately I still have a job. Since Christmas I've been swamped with IR35 management and also.working on the co...

I've been promised a fancy watch if I hit my targets at work for the next six months - as this is imminent by May I'm starting to compile a list at around the £6k mark...

Oh, and the Bezel is every bit as extraordinary as Guy describes, you could use it as a nail file or to grate parmesan cheese over your spaghetti when on patrol! Quite the nicest bezel action I've ever turned!

Re: Elliot Brown Holton Professional - new British Military Issue watch
Guy popped in to Palmer Towers on his way to Edinburgh on Friday for a cup of tea. He was kind enough to show me the Holton Pro. In the flesh this is an extraordinarily cool bit of kit. It oozes quality, intent and low profile. It's a lot thinner than most EB watches and very comfortable on the NATO...

Re: Edinburgh GTG - Chat with Chris - Saturday 19th January 2019
looks interesting, Guy stopped off at Dickie Towers on his way to Auld Reekie and showed me the new MOD issued Elliot Brown Holden in the flesh - what a lovely bit of kit that is! , I was very jealous facing a weekend of dump runs and trying to get a handle on the wasteland that is our garden. I wil...

Re: Geckota E-01 ETA
I've got a couple of the older Geckota watches and I must say that you cannot fault their quality or value for money. Astonishingly well screwed together and finished with quality materials. I think we're all off agreement that Geckota are a first class maker of straps, I have several and they never...

Re: Technical question re automatic chronograph movements
That’s a Valjoux/ETA 7750 movement, and regardless of age/useage, they’re known to be jerky/stuttery in the fashion you have described. Quite normal, if irritating. Check it out on YouTube. But the time-keeping should remain accurate regardless of how displayed. In general, I’m not a fan of keeping...
