Re: The Curmudgeons Corner
Bought a load of bread from the corner shop and the person behind the counter PICKS IT UP IN THE MIDDLE to scan it. Thanks, you've mangled the best slices of the last loaf of wholemeal on the shelf.

Re: I may have bought my ideal holiday watch
The last time we managed to get over we spent some time at the D-Day beaches, where my wife filmed some material for a 75th Anniversary project, and the American cemetery. We have also been to Mont St Michel a couple of times. All wonderful parts of France.

Re: I may have bought my ideal holiday watch
Normandy at the beginning of June will be the first real test and I will try to capture some photos and thoughts. I love Normandy. What part are you heading for? Just outside Cabourg, with a perhaps a couple of trips to Deauville/Trouville and Honfleur with the family and hopefully a cidrerie and s...

Re: I may have bought my ideal holiday watch
Wow, thanks to everyone for your kind comments. As I said in the write up I have been away from watches, and by extension to his forum, for a while. I really must try to stick around. I like reading other member's longer posts and I quite enjoyed writing this. Normandy at the beginning of June will ...

Re: 5day PR - a movement question
I can't find an answer as to whether COSC testing is conducted at specified levels of power reserve (though admittedly I have not looked that hard). I expect they do it at full wind, but that raises all kinds of questions over the value of certification in real-world use. Not that I want to start th...

I may have bought my ideal holiday watch
I may have bought my ideal holiday watch. Well, a Fifty Fathoms annual calendar is my ideal holiday watch but that's lottery win/bank job territory, so here we are instead. 5071_1110_71s_rvb_big.png I have been looking for the right watch for a few years. I have certain requirements, but I'm also pi...

Re: Logo only on some existing CW models.
I agree on the Moonglow the logo seems incongruous, compared to the text at 9. I feel it draws too much attention away from the translucent lower part of the dial. However, this a unique watch. On the Super Compressor and all the others I have seen it on it is fine, the 'sportier' the watch the more...

Re: 4th “line” in the CW range
I would like to see some more formal or dressier offerings as I always thought these were some of CW's best work. However, I doubt they would sell as well as divers, chronographs, aviation and motorsport themed models. We might see another example of democratising 'higher-end' features such as the p...

Re: The future is Aquitaine... ?
The Watchpro release is up, nothing on the official site yet. Much as I like the speculation it's heartening to see forum members respecting the terms of the early unveiling, and well done to the admin team for their fair direction.

Re: Rolex a discussion
I don't look at it as any party needs to be at fault, but it is a funny old situation. If you have a Rolex then you can debate the quality of the watch free of outside influences. If you want to buy said Rolex - your first or a subsequent - then Rolex the company, the new market (ADs) and the second...

Re: New Record Set at Mount Washington Hillclimb
That's very impressive - the loose surface bits are brilliant, how I remember Pikes Peak. We have some great hill climb courses over here but nothing on that scale that I know of.

I could pick many of Mr Jones' past and current offerings but this is an 'interesting' summertime piece.
