Re: Post a picture from your latest ride

Not the prettiest of pictures, but significant. This is where D-Day landing craft LCT7074 will be displayed at the D-Day Story museum in Portsmouth. Really looking forward to having another awesome and thought-provoking part of maritime history down here.

Re: Looking for gin recommendations

I can also recommend Silent Pool as a really nice classic gin. My favourite everyday gin is Opihr, nothing else quite like it. For something different I like Gin Mare - rosemary notes make it great with BBQ lamb chops! - and Conker from Dorset, notes of gorse flower. N.B. look out for yourself, a co...

Exactly that, quite nice but just a bit dull. The blue three-hander in 36mm (women's...:-x) is the pick of the bunch. I'd rather have the money and dream about an Overseas though.

Tan lines

No, not of the bikini variety. Today I am wearing my Metris on the 'wrong' wrist to try to mitigate the appearance of the seemingly inevitable watch tan line. I am not the best at remembering to put the suncream on, despite my wife being of the pale & pasty & ginger habit and wearing factor 50 from ...

Re: F1 2020 | 2021 Motorsport Thread

Interesting. Ricciardo reminds a little of Button - worthy of a championship but in the wrong place at the wrong time. For button the planets aligned and he made the right call to stay with Brawn, the team held their nerve, and he had the edge over his team-mate. I think Ricciardo is going to need s...

Re: Recommendations for my incoming?

I'm really pleased the pics I posted of mine were helpful to in deciding to buy your Metris, Avo. I went for a contrasting strap precisely because of the 'is it the right blue?' issue so aptly illustrated above, but if you're not afflicted (good for you!) then I'm getting on well with my watchgecko ...

The barman says: 'We don't serve faster-than-light particles here'
A tachyon enters a bar

Well I didn't see that coming.

It's good to see this kind of high tech stuff happening close to home.

Though of course it's your lot pushing up the prices at the Bridge Tavern

Quartz has its place, but that place is utility. Art and therefore emotive, it is not.
No. A fine piece of electronic engineering requires no less creativity and mastery of craft than a mechanical movement.

A Sellita SW200 is just as much a mass market commodity as a Seiko quartz movement.
