^^^I never said football. Anyway, best keep the thread on track. Cough...Hublot..cough. As for the Abyss, not the one I would have chosen but please let us know what you think when it arrives. There are enough sensible people who have said positive things about it now (in terms of its leg...

Re: Where are the guitar players?

My daughter has a red Squier strat that was her granddad's, very similar to yours. I have had a go but I have come to the realisation I am not much of a guitarist. I think it could do with a bit of tlc electronics-wise (the volume control is either on or off) so I'll have a look into other electroni...

An excellent foursome, and a spiffing watch box too. Nice to see they are all set to the same time!

Re: Help me decide which watch to buy

Goldilocks thought daddy bear's watch was too red. She found mummy bear's watch, but that was too black. Then she found baby bear's watch, and that was just right.

I do love a creamy Mâconnais Burgundy, and this from Lidl is a cracker, alongside a bake-off chocolate Babka.

Laco Valencia 39

Let me present my new acquisition, a Laco Valencia 39. It is a three-hander in a deck watch style, with a small date window at six. The movement is a Miyota 821A automatic which has an Laco engraved rotor and some basic striped decoration. I believe there is an 8315 'upgrade' available if one buys d...

Am I right in thinking they wrap tattoos in cling film as well? I imagine it's for a similar reason.
Yes they do.

My apologies to drand for inadvertently hijacking this thread.
Not at all. It is interesting to see where the discussion goes!

Re: Injuries preventing watch wear

Thank you! I never knew that. The last bit about being developed initially for treating burns is fascinating. Except I couldn't find validation of this on the interweb and have therefore deleted my comment. Good story though, which I'm sure I learnt somewhere. Guy I think it (cling film) was an acc...

Re: Sending a watch to Europe!

Not sent watches abroad, but I sell a few things now and again on eBay and that doesn't seem an unreasonable amount for that value. I find often the problem is that the insured deliveries are also the expedited deliveries, which isn't necessarily what is needed. Sorry I can't recommended anywhere sp...

You are wrong.... that upper button is to move the black face an hour at a time while The movement keeps going so you can very easily set two different time zones. A very nice gmt
