Re: CWL of the day

Wearing this watch a lot more since I took it off the bracelet and put it on a soft touch strap.

Re: STRAPS FOR A MK2 38mm C60 600 TRIDENT BLACK/BLACK GMT

The difficulty matching black faced watches with the right shade of black leather strap has long exercised me. I had a similar issue pairing my Bremont Solo (which for now resides on a Crown & Buckle Phalynx canvas strap) and more recently I struggled to pair my new Broadsword with a suitable strap....

Re: STRAPS FOR A MK2 38mm C60 600 TRIDENT BLACK/BLACK GMT

Bader clasp on a regular (non-Bader) strap. Not much to see other than the redundant keeper. Hope that helps. P3020007.JPG That’s an unusual strap Phil. I have tried a ‘normal’ strap on a bader before but there is usually a gap where the tang from the buckle sits. Your strap doesn’t seem to have th...

Ironically, the dial looks deep black in this shot because I'm blocking the light to take the pic. The Bremont strap works somewhat better than the other nylon strap because the weave is finer but I still prefer the soft touch.

Re: STRAPS FOR A MK2 38mm C60 600 TRIDENT BLACK/BLACK GMT

Found a shot of the GMT on a nylon strap (not Sailcloth as I previously stated). It's okay but it didn't quite ring the bell for me. I'm not sure if it's the clash of textures between the wave dial and the strap that put me off or, more likely I think, the fact that the dial appears to be more dark ...

Re: STRAPS FOR A MK2 38mm C60 600 TRIDENT BLACK/BLACK GMT

The 'presentation side' of the soft-touch strap on my GMT is a dark grey while the inside lining is mid grey. The stitching is slightly lighter than the grey backing although, oddly, it appears slightly off-white/beige against the dark grey outer surface probably due to the tonal contrast playing tr...

Re: CWL of the day

There was always something about my GMT I wasn't quite sure about and I nearly sold it. Then I remembered my own advice to try it on a different strap. Glad I did. I took the bracelet off and found that the watch works beautifully on the CW soft-touch strap which seems to reduce the perceived lug si...

Re: C60 Crown "cracking"

Several of my CW watches have exhibited this behavior. It bothered me at first but I believe the cause to be item 2 above and have decided to live with it. No big deal.

That's good news going forward. Sadly, I personally have zero interest in the mk3 Trident.

Re: Tudor Oyster SubMariner 7923

Perhaps your question would be better directed at whoever gave you the valuation but, regardless, I think I'd be seeking multiple independent assessments of value before sending it to auction. The estimate may be right but it may also be wrong; high or low.

Re: C60 mk3 half link alternative

Clever solution. Why CW fails to recognize this is an issue, I have no idea. I have brought it up repeatedly with them and finally gave up when I asked the question via internet at one of the GTGs and CW himself smirked and told me to get in touch with him so he could tell me how to use the micro-ad...
