I sometimes regret selling my French GP version, but the books had to be balanced. This was a superb lineup.

Re: “The Twelve” is live
The photos confirm my initial impression that the textured dial is 'too much' for me. Maybe a future version will be less blingy.

Re: “The Twelve” is live
Why do so many people here seem to think that offering a negative opinion is 'hating'? It's a ludicrous suggestion and it pops up in many postings on this forum from, I guess, the counterbalance label, the 'fanboys'. Cut it out.

Now you're talking. I didn't mention the indices. They're too big.albionphoto wrote: ↑Thu Apr 27, 2023 2:42 pm
I suggested a gloss black or musuo black dial with smaller indices to Mike. Small round indices, no date and a perfect black dial and I'd have paid him for it on the spot.

Re: “The Twelve” is live
Close but no cigar for me. Challenges the watch industry? Hardly. It is nice enough but it's not exactly novel since it's by nature paying homage to a specific iconic design and numerous other variants. Personally, I think it's gone a step too blingy with the dial. The essence of the watch, the case...

Re: Which brand did you "upgrade" to after Christopher Ward?
I've owned 13 (I think) CW's over the years and I currently own 5. I was totally switched off the brand when the logo went to the 9 o'clock position and the Trident's were redesigned, in the process losing most of the features that I consider had defined them as Tridents. I've not returned to the fo...

I got tired of waiting for a decent-sized watch and now that CW has decided to downsize their cases to girlfriend levels, I had to move on...

Re: Another Bel Canto thread: this one's for the non-owners, the unbelievers
Arguably, there is little point in any of us owning wrist watches at all... unless we're operating in some remote, rough environment where our phones wouldn't work, we have little (to no) need of a watch at anymore :problem: However, we still wear them, because we admire them and admire the fantast...

Re: Another Bel Canto thread: this one's for the non-owners, the unbelievers
I like the sunburst dial and the colors. Nothing else about the watch appeals to me at all. Regardless of the technical accomplishment it may represent, I don't get the point of the hourly ding, a complication that was brought over from, and was actually useful in, pocket watches. I don't get the po...

Thank you everyone. I had a very quiet day due to ongoing medical issues (and ongoing overwork too!).
I do appreciate all your well-wishes.

Re: Marketing pictures
The CW marketing photography has been epically poor for years IMO. If it's not renders, the photos are dark and difficult to see. I'm sure someone will be here soon to tell me I'm wrong and that I don't understand marketing.
