Re: Members' Photo Thread

Thanks greyman and vlognier! Here is one a bit more cropped, sharpened and enhanced contrast. Can't go much further without starting to show to much grain and noise. Really lucky with the clear sky because it usually is cloudy here in winter all the time. https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7854/32958058...

Re: CW watch design suggestions

The new C60 due in May of this year is most likely going to have a pointy arrow hour hand and baton-shaped minute hand. I was looking at the current handset and understand the water drop hour hand is not for everyone, even though I really like it. The minute hand looks great though and is a distinct...

Re: Edinburgh GTG - Chat with Chris - Saturday 19th January 2019

[Breitling Superocean Heritage is more appropriate notably as it has baton hour markers. Subtle differences with the CW are a slim 'cricket bat' minutes hand and a longer, but again slim, arrowhead hours hand. Guy Sent from my Xperia XZ Premium using Tapatalk Good comparision with the Breitling. Th...

Re: Edinburgh GTG - Chat with Chris - Saturday 19th January 2019

^^ looks like Seiko hands with a slightly smaller hour hand to me. Not a fan at all and it looks like there aren't many other changes besides some small tweeks. I wish they would have gone for a more original design. https://cdn2.chrono24.com/images/uhren/images_88/s7/8516788_s210.jpg?v=1543983613986

Re: Members' Photo Thread

Picture of the Super Blood Wolf Moon from last night. My telezoom lens only goes up to 210mm at an aperture of F6.3 so not the greatest for capturing a tiny, dim and far away object in the black sky. But still turned out pretty decent. It was -13F / -25C last night so also not the most comfortable e...

Sorry, I meant the minute hand looks like an undersized stick.

Images are screen captures from this video:

Re: Edinburgh GTG - Chat with Chris - Saturday 19th January 2019

So the minute hand is an undersized stick shaped hand? Never liked that on the Black Bay and Submariner, including hour and minutes hands that are not the same shape and it looks like that's what they are going for. Wish they would have copied the Aquis hands.. Well.. maybe the unbalanced hands comp...

Those who saw the Trident mk3 prototype up close: What did you think of the hands? Dropping the onion hour hand is a good thing I thought, but the new hour hand is very triangular. Is it close to the design drawings? What does the minute hand look like? http://horology.world/files/attachments/month...

Re: C65 Trident Diver Automatic

The other C65 is named C65 Trident Diver so it's a bit confusing they name this just C65 Trident Automatic. Not to be confused with the C65 Trident Vintage dress watch, even though this new model is vintage as well. And a dive watch which is not in the name. Unless this is just a temporary name. May...

Re: CWL of the day

The nice thing about a watch that doesn't work is that the hands are always in the perfect position. At least it shows the correct time twice a day.

Re: An appeal to the mods

Just curious... ...was there a common factor in any of these bannerisings? :silent: Sorry Frank. Couldn't resist. 8) No need to be sorry. The common factor was having an opinion on how their commercial forums take over the independent enthusiast forums we used to know. A Verticalscope forum ban is ...

Re: An appeal to the mods

Are you saying Mods can read PMs here? I know we cannot on the other forum as I actually have Admin privileges on that forum and it's not available to me. I am not saying that they are or know how to. I run a vBulletin forum and PMs are stored in the database as plain text. From what I have read, p...

Re: An appeal to the mods

I have been banned on several forums and even a FB group. They couldn't pay me enough if they asked me to come back. It's like a divorce. It's permanent and you should move on. Not because you're a bad person but because not everybody gets along. we can't read PMs to monitor for that. Forum admins c...

Re: A Trio of Rapides

I think Mike France was disappointed because the C7 wasn't more popular than it was, not because he was disappointed with the watches and design. The Rapide case design was complicated, expensive and over-engineered but he thought it was extraordinary. I sure like mine and am tempted to get another ...
