Re: Citizen Ecodrive advice needed

I bought my Citizen Promaster Tough in 1999 (it was known as the Ray Mears watch then). It still runs OK and hasn't stopped running in all the time I've had it.

RADO Coupole Classic

My recent purchase, RADO Coupole Classic. I've been on the lookout for a dress watch and just loved the look of it (and the price was pretty good).

Re: Dreaded spinning rotor

Recently had my Trident Pro for fixed for the same problem. It took around 5 weeks from sending it in to having it sent back. 'Repairs' on mine were limited to: Reverse wheel cleaned and lubricated Pallet fork cleaned and lubricated The timing was also regulated and tested over 3 days. It's gone fro...

Re: Warranty Repairs - Dial replacement?

I forgot to update  I sent in the watch at the beginning of the month and so far have had 3 emails. One to let me know it'd been received, then next to say a fault had been confirmed and would be repaired under warranty. Current turnaround time is 5 weeks. Latest email was to confirm (after I'...

Thanks for the responses, very reassuring.

Thermexman - do you know what the particular problem is that causes the difficulty in winding?

Warranty Repairs - Dial replacement?

I bought a C60 Trident Pro 600 - 42mm just over 3 years ago which seems to have developed a fault. Although it still keeps good time the manual winding mechanism is 'binding' and it's getting harder to wind the watch and it feels sometimes as though the whole mechanism is moving within the case. I a...

Re: The Ray Mears Citizen

Interesting article, thanks. I've learnt a bit more about my Citizen Promaster Tough bought in 1999 which appears to be the AP0600-01E model. Although I rarely wear it now it's been running continuously for 19 years. The Kevlar strap usually lasted around 12 months and Citizen gave me 3 sets for fre...

Re: Oris Aquis Big Date Date - Sizing tools?

I understand that the 'proper' way to remove the links is to screw the screw in half a turn to break the loctite before unscrewing. The best way to deal with the Loctite threadlock is to warm it up before attempting to turn the screw. Many people use hot water but I have found a hairdryer far easie...

Re: Oris Aquis Big Date Date - Sizing tools?

Could you give me a link to the tri-wing screwdriver you used? The thread you linked to mentions a #00 tri-wing head but the only bit I have with that size is more of a domed rather than a flat tri-wing. I can't find anyone with the official Oris tool in stock although a German site says it's due so...

Oris Aquis Big Date Date - Sizing tools?

A long time lurker here and I recently saw the post that included the Oris Aquis Big Day Date. I'd been planning to get an Oris partly in memory of my Dad and partly because I like the look of the Aquis family and after seeing that one I decided that it's the one for me which I hope to buy within th...

Re: Chr Ward ads in magazines

I've seen them advertised in F1 Racing UK magazine and Top Gear. It's the Top Gear ad that led me to the site to buy my C60 Trident Pro 600.
