Re: The way I went for the big half cent-ury

Congrats on both the birthday and this beautiful peace. Terrible shame it's just too much watch for my skinny wrist, but there you go... It continues to amaze me how serendipity in our lives can so importantly overtake our considered planning. There can be little doubt the Spitfire is an icon that ...

Re: The way I went for the big half cent-ury

Agreed; approx 100 winds for the SH21. I think of it as 20 winds per 24 hrs worth of PR. More importantly, what a fabulous purchase and so much more special for your 50th. Congratulations.  Slightly off piste, I had a similar 'stars align' for my 50th. Was out shopping on a S...

Re: The way I went for the big half cent-ury

It's somewhere close to 100 winds give or take. Don't be scared of it, unless you're winding it like a mad man the mechanism will be sufficient enough to stop you overwinding and you'll feel the definite stop. Edit: it's a great looking watch, congrats. Thanks. I don’t think I got near 100. I’m alw...

The way I went for the big half cent-ury

It was the big 5-0 last week, I wanted something special, probably limited edition and different to most of my collection. You may have seen my other post regarding the trials and tribulations of that journey. I picked out the ORIS Big Crown Pointer Date, but for the first time ever, when I saw it i...

Re: Which way to go for the big 5-0?

Well that didn't go as planned. Yesterday was the big day, Oris was unboxed. Oris was reboxed. Oris was returned. Refund has been processed. I was gutted! I've never returned a watch before so at least that was something different for my Birthday! On the upside I now have a very healthy looking wat...

Re: To Wind Watch or Watch Winder

So i have just taken the dog for a walk, about 3 miles an hours walk, and at my usual pace which is more a march than a stroll. This got me wondering how long does the movement actually take to fully charge, if that's the correct term, the watch from dead. ....Apologies as i do tend to overthink th...

Re: CW's first TV Advert

The fact that the TV advertisement seems to be having a even better than anticipated impact. Combine this with Loupe 17 hitting the ground and I think you get the picture. This is really good news for CW. I’m not a fan of the ad, for many of the reasons already mentioned, I maybe would have gone a ...

Re: Repair Question

I found exactly the same with my C65 GMT I thought it was broken when I first wound it, but it is just really smooth. Timekeeping is within tolerance so it would appear there is not a fault. It is the the luck of the draw my C65 GMT runs at +<1s/per day and I’ve got a c8 runs at +20s/per day. I figu...

Re: Unique Daily Special - Forum / CWE Exclusive

I hope that CW have informed military project coordinators about these sales. In the event that the agreement to produce these pieces requires them to so, I hope they have too. Just as I hope they, and any company I buy from, meet all of their legal and contractual obligations. As a reputable compa...

Re: C60 Sapphire - New Release

It’s not for me. I think it will be like the Apex, when I held it, I just thought wow! It blew me away, it was a beautiful thing to hold and fascinating from a technical point of view, but just not the look of a watch I would want to wear. But, I love the fact that CW keep doing new things. Somethin...
