I do not like that the 10 is so offset to the left. It might be OK on a single digit, but that looks odd.

Not sure if you (or her for that matter) have a preference on movement, but might i suggest the Seiko SKX013. 35mm and potentially you could get her feet wet with modding it sometime in the near future. Obviously if you're machining your own case and/or tweaking a movement then that would take it up a level. I don't recall any of the kickstarter watches thus far tweaking the movement, but I have been known to be wrong. Most all of the marketing I have read is focusing on the design at face value. ...

Makara also says on their Facebook page that Rossling & Co is their sister company. Does Makara have a bad name or just Nadim?
