Re: Timex M79 Automatic

Having grown up in the 60's with Timex, this one is not for me. I do find myself drawn to the Marlin though

The Ascari COSC is the perfect antidote to a dull Sunday.

Re: Dartmouth

Thanks for the picture of the lume. I'm confused now though. On the CW web-site spec for this watch it states.... "Unidirectional aluminium bezel with TC-1 SuperLumiNova-applied numerals and markers" To me that means the numerals and markers on the bezel are lumed but from the photo they're obvious...

That does look exquisite on the mesh and the hybrid is a great looker too, very nicely captured. Thanks for sharing Toph

I think there are five watch brands who have deals with the MOD. I know of G-shock, CW and Bremont. Does anyone know who the other two are?
Elliot Brown have produced some collaborations and the Holton even sports a NATO stock number

Why the date is 8th on a lot of brands ?
I think it's because the figure 8 is the single large figure on its own , also in respect of the way digital numbers are constructed 8 uses all the bars ? if that makes sense

Re: Mystery of website watches all showing same times?

I'm led to understand that 10 past 10 for the hands is used as it shows off the whole watch face better. I doubt the watches used for advertising have movements inside hence the crown seated.

CW Advert in this months Dockyard Dandy.

A rather nice full page advert appeared in this months Navy News, concerning a Trident with HMS Prince of Wales ships crest and silhouette of the carrier. A little Google search came up with an article in the Portsmouth News of the collaboration (link included) which is dated from Monday 13 August 2...

Citizen have the Red Arrows & Royal Marines Commando editions.
Yes Chris, I forgot about those. I wonder if that is the Official fifth then. I seem to remember during my service the navigating officer either had CWC or Seiko

New Recruits, CW Email today.

An interesting email arrived today from CW. Reading thru there is mention of M.O.D/HMAF approved versions arriving in the Autumn. I'm know this is not a new venture/association for CW as I am already the proud owner of the 'Submariner' "Kissing Kippers" and there are plenty of 'Junior Service' RAF a...

Re: Non CW of the Day

Opened the watch box this afternoon and this shiny Casio Illuminator shouted at me. I love the colour and detailing with day/date to boot on this cheap n cheerful watch. 8)
