Re: Parnis

Updates

1. The flieger has continued to steadily lose time, now around 1 minute 45 seconds behind
2. After gentle persuasion I have been allowed to wear something other than the C4
3. We’ve even managed to get an arty joint wrist shot

Re: Parnis

EDIT -

I changed the strap on the flieger to a CW one for photos, the original was black with white stitching.

I’ll also try and do a proper review of a CW soon as I have one incoming and that’ll be more helpful than this one!

Parnis

From what I’ve read I’m not sure if Parnis really constitutes a brand, but browsing through eBay for watches I stumbled across them and for a measly £30 bought two examples to see what they were like. For anyone who cares to read further I’ve put a review below. Overview I went with effectively a ge...

Re: I like them, lots

That’s a cool way to present your collection, they’re missing a trick not employing you in their marketing team.

Re: C60 Concept

So no recycled semi-translucent plastic dials? I'm not an instinctive skellington watch person but I would like to learn more before casting judgement. That’s my feeling too. What first sparked my interest in watches was a skeleton, getting to see all the guts was exciting. However, as I’ve ...

Re: Aviation watches

I suspect the issue was not the size of the watches. For many, myself included, the issue was the watches were pretty awful. The designs were either overdone or deeply average. I know some people here love them and, god bless 'em, but motorsport watches are another niche and hard to sell to the gen...

Re: Aviation watches

I've never been an avaitor watch person (though I quite like the jackets!). I love reading about military history (and my grandpa would tell me his WW2 stories growing up) but that's about it. I guess growing up with everything James Bond really drew me to dive/dress watches. I will say though a sm...

albionphoto wrote: Thu Oct 14, 2021 5:40 pm My guess would be that the market for aviation watches that CW could reach was too small. As a small business they have to concentrate on what sells.
It’s completely this, I remember reading an interview where they said that they are not big sellers and so they can’t justify the investment.

It will spend most of its life on dry land, so a rare treat for it… and yes it still works fine🤣🤣

I love the photo but was more impressed by your footer, that’s a huge collection of C65s 👏🏻

Re: Forum Upgrade - October 2021

I only ever use the forum on my mobile and all functionality appears ok on it. I occasionally use Tapatalk and it seems ok there for me too in case that helps isolate any issues.

Re: C63 Sealander Collection

I was going to get the blue Sealander, but now this green dial... It is more attractive whereas the blue dial is more versatile. It is hard to choose. I’m in a similar position although I actually preordered the blue …and am now considering sending an email asking for a little swapsy to green! I wo...

Re: C63 Sealander Collection

Really nice photo! I have always like the Rolex but can not get past the cyclops. The new CW is awesome and Mike France stated on a pod cast today the are making another size (I assume larger). The 39mm is too small for me. So my question, since you own a Rolex do you feel the CW is too much of cop...

Re: CWL of the day

My two year old daughter has got into watches, she likes to wear the classic Casio F-91W (it’s got a light and makes a beeping sound). She also likes to pick out my watch for the day, but unfortunately as only one of my watches has a ‘birdie’ on it the C4 is getting a lot of wrist time! 6DE6436E-DF8...

Re: Buying on ebay - tips for a dummy

It’s been said above but the facility on the forum or the separate Facebook groups are good places to buy from. You can get really great deals and the people selling tend to take very good care of their watches. Take this one from the forum for example, looks like a lovely piece and great seller too...
