Re: Vintage Gallery

Atomik Turkish Railway watch I believe these watches were awarded to Railway staff in Turkey many years ago, Swiss made with a lovely case back I have no idea how its ended up on this side of Europe but very glad it did, one of my favourites. Re: Vintage watch of the day (30 years+)

I dont think I have posed in this part of the forum before but hopefully I can put a few watches up here. Vintage watches were for a long time my go to and I spent a lot of time looking for vintage watches and paying out to get them restored. I hated to see them go to waste and loved the idea of giv...

https://i.imgur.com/eDW2BeOl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/GwV0jbjl.jpg This is my Hamilton pocket watch It has its original box and sales receipt for $52 that I purchased many years ago when I first took an interest in watches from an American gentleman on another forum. All these years later I hope he ...

Re: Full Circle

I don’t think tastes really change much from when you first take an interest in something which probably explains why people end up with a collection of “divers” or “pilot watches” of various different values. It’s probably another big reason why you should never take it personal when someone is qui...

Re: Tourby watches from Germany

I’ve only recently come across Tourby and must say, I do like what I see. Has anyone had any recent dealings with them and if so, what was the experience. Interested in one of the Marine watches. I still own mine (Ottoman Enamel) which is basically a marine watch with Ottoman numerals. It’s still o...

Re: Mr Jones watches

I do like Mr Jones watches there are something a bit different. Positives I like about them are, they are reasonably priced, they sort of remind me of those old Soviet era mechanical watches you used to find with cartoon dials Engraved case backs if you want and a really friendly customer service Th...

Re: Customer service

That sounds really odd to resell an engraved watch! Not heard that before usually its a bit of a "No returns" unless there is a defect in the watch because its pretty much impossible to resell again. I have a few watches that are engraved and I would never return or resell as they are pers...

Re: Customer service

I frequently see threads about CW customer service and as others have said usually around the sales time. A lot of it delay in orders being shipped or wrong orders etc.... I have had to contact CW I think three times in all the times I have been on the forum which is about the same time I have owned...

Re: And now for something completely different

Really nice watches, I remember the constellation was one of the more affordable Omega watches and could be had at a decent discount. I had considered one a few times but integrated bracelets always put me off. Not seen a chronograph before so thats very interesting. Movement looks lovely on that co...

Re: New Fears watch

Just my humble opinion but when I first opened this page my initial impression was it looked like an "Ali Express" watch or a Kickstarter. Nothing really bad about that just something I would pay maybe £2-400 for similar to other brands coming out of China at that price. And there you hav...

Re: (Another) New Watch Day

Strange I cant find anything regarding P&J watches (reviews etc) other than a historical connection with Glycine, where did you find it? The most noticeable thing being that it looks very similar to a Felipe Pikulik watch, hands look quite similar. I’d thought a little the same on your last poi...

Which means you’ll probably have to jump through hoops to come within a mile of being in with a shout to join a lottery to be able to buy one.
Which really has become a terrible trend in watchmaking.
