Re: Blast from the Past: TV Dial Speedy

The 24- hour hand is simply that. An am/pm repeater. Not a lot of practical use sadly.

The same feature was phased out on the Mk2 Flightmaster in favour of running seconds.

And in the cold morning light I know these aren't for me.

This however, could very well be:

Re: New Farer hand wound chronos

I clicked the link and thought "Another Mechaquartz job": nope, a real hand cranker. So I'm keeping the link open overnight to try it again in the cold light of day. but jeepers, that main plate is so ugly. Even so, 37mm is " period " small right? Tonight the blue Cresta model engages me the most. B...

Re: My C65 Trident GMT isn't waterproof!

Honestly? I think you're in line to receive the award for "Biggest crock of ##it ever spouted to a customer by a sales partner". Some of us are old enough to remember the joke in ladies footwear of the knee-length variety: "Fashion boots love, not designed to keep any water out." I wonder if the own...

Re: Trident Elite 1000 LE - running slowly - advice please

Hi Paul, That's a good question re. COSC certificate. I just assumed that something had happened to my watch whilst in transit. When a watch is regulated, I'd expect a print out from a timegrapher, showing how the watch is performing. I can't really give CW deadlines; they fail to meet their own! I...

Re: Trident Elite 1000 LE - running slowly - advice please

My C60 Trident Elite 1000 was my most accurate mechanical watch to date, running at less than +1sec per day (about 3 sec per week). As has already been mentioned you ought to have a watch that is within the advertised specification (I presume you are referring to the timing during consistent daily ...

But unless the case diameter grows by a couple of mm it'll still be too small for me. Oh I've tried. Three times I've tried.

Re: Another modified C600

If it wasn’t for this forum, I’d never have known that such mods and refurbishments were possible. The examples shown here look outstanding [emoji106] I agree also that the blacked out bezel numbers give the watch a fantastically striking appearance. Quite Breitlingesque..... Re: Is my C600 full of moon dust?

How old is the watch...looks like dried up lubricant on a movement that has not been serviced in 10 years. Definitely in need to a strip down, clean lubricate and any bad parts changed. I would assume it's running a bit slow now? As it's a standard movement you should be able to get it serviced at ...

Re: Is my C600 full of moon dust?

Looks like a service is long overdue! Indeed. Do you know the service history of the watch? If not, it has probably spent quite a bit of time in Hungary or Spain and ingested a lot of paprika. Nope, no known service history. Recent EBay impulse purchase sans box and papers. And the fact that it has...

Is my C600 full of moon dust?

So I had the back off the C600 and found something on the inside: cocoa powder? Rust? Unobtainium? It was dry rather than wet and the movement looks very clean: any thoughts? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190830/56fd9c603722ed160a414da47b5c61aa.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190830/4641...

I've owned this strap unused for a long time. Every dog has their day. This suggests I've now got an older woman with a dog. In praise of older women*

I'm not a C60 Mk3 person and I'm not a C65 person. I'm hugely fond of my 7750-driven Big Blue C60 chronograph and today I've provided him with an older woman as a companion piece. No real logic, just an impulse with right price and right time. *In praise of older women was the title of a book I read...
