Re: Non CW of the Day

Well here's a turn up. Omega on one wrist and a Garmin smart watch on the other wrist this morning. I've been disgruntled by the iffy gps tracking accuracy of my android device and a really good mate has very kindly lent me his "spare" running smartwatch. He knows my interest in watches and tells me...

Re: This Omega Is A Bargain

I'm halfway through the video, I've been to EBay, buy it for £4k or offer.
There are times I regret no longer wearing smart shirts with cufflinks and sitting behind a desk all day.
Thanks for the link. I'm going into a darkened room now....

Re: Footycrazy fantastico!!!

And this just in. All I set out was the lug width, the softer 3mm thickness and a chalky blue stitching and blue backing. The interpretation of that was all down to Graham. I'm going to look at this all day now.... https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200219/1572a1302aa93f5cf2aaae52dcfaa3e2.jpg https:...

Thinks: is there opportunity to participate in this discourse by members of The Honorable Society for Fine Thread Settling or am I too late?

Case backs, gentlemen, case backs.

Oh yes and those naughty Vostoks with their Wobbly Crowns.

QED!

Well, I'm all in favour of a spot of bushing in the crown tube.
Would you consider it preferable to Much Binding in the Marsh?

A fully brushed finish will look out of place on a MK1 or 2 C60 due to the polished case finish.
I agree with you. The polished link ends just pop. I might think about increasing the contrast by scouring the outer links but probably not. Thank you.

Re: Do movements come on different sizes or does one size have to fit all?

Again, I may be talking rubbish here, but my concern with a small movement in a large case would be the length of crown stem required. Possible issue with fragility? Well, I would refer my learned colleague to the vast array of large case quartz watches only some of which, I surmise, would have som...

Re: Do movements come on different sizes or does one size have to fit all?

Thinking about this logically, I can see where you are coming from, but... An off-the-shelf movement like the 2824 or the SW200 is a specific size, so the question must be: what is the smallest case that can accommodate it? My first two CWs were very different in size (C8 and C5) yet they had the s...

Do movements come on different sizes or does one size have to fit all?

Did you ever pop the back off a watch and be surprised that the movement doesn't exactly fill the case? I was surprised when I popped my new-to-me C60 MkI and found the movement sitting in a spacer/holder. My Planet Ocean is even worse.... Why is my immediate reaction always one of disappointment? h...
