Re: Broken Ceramic C1000 Typhoon

Sorry that your watch case has shattered, how did it happen? Strap broke or slipped off the table? I would claim this on household insurance for a replacement (not neccessarily another Typhoon) rather than try to repair as the lug will always be a weak point now in the case. You could always sell of...

Re: CW January 21 sale reboot

I think CW are far too generous. Why would someone buy 5 watches at once or 2 of the same kind in one go? I'd enforce a 3 watch maximum with no duplicates to spread the sugar around more evenly.

Re: Brexit - additional duty to pay (UK to EU shipping)

Have had the same, was looking to buy from an eBay seller in Spain and the price magically increased on 1 Jan because eBay is now adding 20% on by default. This is despite the original price not changing and with free postage etc.

...some people will get VERY upset when they're unable to buy the watch they want because others were faster. A huge sense of entitlement and injustice will follow  ^ that's my favourite part of the post sale reading....the "entitlement and injustice" posts ! I'm utterly outrag...

... with the caveat that the preview is about as exclusive as tap water - as soon as the link is released, it pretty much goes viral and that's discounting the gazillions who already have an account setup just to bag the sales. Ah yes, I was going with the theory as opposed to the practice. I've ne...

Re: CW January ‘21 Sale

There are three things that are assured during the Jan sale:

1. The good stuff will get hoovered up quickly
2. The website will crash / glitch
3. Sale watches will begin to popup like toadstools on eBay usually with inflated prices

Re: CW 2020 Forum Watch of the Year

The thing with the C60 Sapphire is that it's just another Trident variation. Don't really think that's very significant for CW as they've already done it to death whereas the Compressor was a first for CW and the "first genuine compressor for 50 years".

Most significant? I voted the C65 Compressor even though I like the C60 Chrono and C65 GT more.

Re: The end of my Annus Horologicus

The Tudor GMT would definitely have stayed if I hadn’t had such a terrible experience with Tudor - the first time it came back from Rolex St James the case was so badly scratched up that it had to go back for a case refurb. Oh wow, so you mean Rolex St James scratched it all up when it went in for ...

Enjoyed reading this, thanks for a great write up

Do you think you would have kept the Tudor BB if it hadn't been back under warranty three times? And how come the Chopard didn't get any wrist time, it's a lovely piece?

This post might help (it says "yes"):

I think all the C65 use the same sapphire box crystal with AR coating. With a blue dial, it's a little tricky to see the blue sheen on the crystal.
