Re: Falling In Love with the Vintage Trident

I felt pretty much the same when I first saw it, then bought it (albeit in a sale) way back in 2015. Finally, a Trident for me. I still wear it.

Old pic, as the last pic I took of it, back in Nov. 22, after getting a new strap from CW, is even worse than this!

Re: New CW Sealander Chronograph

It says chronometer on the dial. Doesn’t that only apply to mechanical watches? No it doesn't - ludicrously. In view of MF's comments, maybe he is not the final arbiter anymore? If it quartz, then I would assume this is not a one-off, so how about creating a separate model range for quartz? Or even...

Re: Falling out of love

Then we might be talking about price increases, which could be as detrimental to sales as delivery delays. I can't imagine that CW hasn't considered this. Might be, but then again might not. The Swiss watch industry is well known for being mutually supportive within the industry. but sometimes that...

Re: Falling out of love

but i was gently roasting Mike France about it during a chat on Saturday and he said that delivery is imminent. Apparently, the delivery schedule was knocked off course by a delay in the manufacture of a single part, which was repeatedly assured for delivery, then not supplied. Maybe if they have a...

Re: New Omega Moonwatch - the "Daniel Craig" White Dial

Simply put, it's great! As for limited production watches, or limited release watches, it's not a new concept, and many brands have done so in the past, including Omega. And as for prices! Well, many of the big boys and others, CW included, have been raising them, some more than others. The Swiss wa...

Re: When the minute hand is at the top of the hour...

Right, from what I’ve seen from watch repair videos (that’s the extent of my expertise on the subject) it really does seem to be popping the caseback off, taking the stem out, taking the movement and dial out of the case, using a pair of hand levers to pull the hands off, and realigning them. That ...

I have a few where the date window intervenes, but these are the only two with all numbers present.

Re: Buying watches before the Internet

I was obviously thinking of the earlier iteration of the band.I wasn't that interested in them,so wasn't aware of Powell being in the group,.. although I was aware of him..Cozy is an unusual forename. His real name was Colin, but Powell wasn't his real surname either! Great drummer. Sad loss. Only ...

Patek Philippe (from a lyric reference in “Touch And Go” by Emerson, Lake, and Powell) You are obviously a man of discerning taste! 'Man in the street nowhere to sleep No time for nothing, no Patek Phillipe Pedal to the metal, blow by blow' Great song, very good album, the band, alas, are all gone.

Re: Buying watches before the Internet

Well, my first bought watch pre-dates the quartz revolution. I was 17 and had no real knowledge of watches (still don't). I only had my first watch that my Dad bought for me, when attending school. It was a tiny gold plated Oris, in the day's when Oris were a cheap brand. So, now 17, having been enc...

Re: Smart Watches and the Smaller Watch Trend

As for wrist sizes, perhaps as CW reaches more and more beyond UK, Europe and USA/Canada, it has realised that some other areas of the world just have a smaller average wrist size? When I am on the skytrain in Bangkok, I cannot help but notice huge G-Shocks (or their fake equivalent) dangling on sm...

Re: FARER UNIVERSAL

It's a very generic, unremarkable watch and too small.

The only thing I like about it and a couple of other recent Farer models, is the lack of gaudiness that characterises much of their output. And this coming from someone that likes colour, just not as used by Farer.

Re: Watch Brands with the Highest Markups

MF has previous form of comparing CW to Tudor, in a sales pitch no less, so maybe thats who he means? Or maybe he's just being mischievous, which I suspect is nearer the truth.

Thai. Oris and Seiko churn out commemorative watches in Thai from time to time. The 1st pic was from an Oris display some time ago. The watch in the 2nd pic is one of mine, from Wise, a Thai brand. The date window keeps me on my toes! :D https://i.postimg.cc/fWCgrGKG/IMG-0092-002.jpg https://i.posti...
