Re: US tariffs and how they may affect CW

Going back to the OP and No.6 in the comments from Vaer. He mentions there, that if they use movements manufactured in Thailand, that there could be a cosy saving. That's incorrect, the tariffs for Thailand are 36%, so higher than Switzerland. This could be pretty devastating for Seiko and Citizen, ...

Re: Mr. Jones collaboration

When you buy a Mr.J watch, you're buying it for the dial. Either you like the quirky, artsy-fartsy aesthetic, or you don’t. And let’s be real—this isn’t an everyday watch. Most people get it for the fun factor, like a cool magic trick on your wrist. So why pay £2K when you can get essentially the s...

Re: Rado Brand Perception

Living abroad myself, in Thailand. You do see some differences in the perception and availability of brands compared to the UK. Swatch brands Longines, Rado, Mido, and Tissot are widely available here and seemingly very popular. As is Swatch, with many Swatch stand alone stores in Bangkok and throug...

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread

This time I've found a brand that are a little more affordable but appear to make stunning products. Isotope are a well established brand by now. Always good to stumble across something for the first time though. My favourite is this, sadly, out of stock, for now. It owes a bit to Ochs & Junior...

Re: New Fears watch

I was heartened yesterday watching Mike France taking about the early days and CW watches being assembled in China and the big clue being "Swiss movement" on the dial. Hmmm. Let me think of a possible reason why he wasn't so open about CW being assembled in China all those years ago? Or w...

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread

This just came up in my Insta feed, I think it's stunning. Malachite dials are gorgeous, Formex offer one with their Essence range. This is a cracking watch for little over €1K. Sellita SW200 movement, tungsten bezel, fantastic consort-looking bracelet (though not sure it has OTF adjustment). Looks...

Re: New Bremont logo?

She has played a huge part in the success of Bremont. As stated, she must have been torn by what has taken place. I hope they find an amazing person to replace her and don't dumb down the military watches by using the new models instead.

Re: New Bremont Supermarine gmt

Sorry, I’m not having this brand. In-house movements that are really ‘modified off the shelf’ items. Way over priced. Not for me…ever. I wouldn't worry, that's how most Bremont fans - BC - as Iain nicely puts it, feel. The attraction for Bremont for many of us, was the unique design and being hones...
