Re: CW Marketing Emails - Time to Unsubscribe?

From my personal experience, CW's systems are pretty useless. Around about the time I bought my super compressor, I spoke to a very helpful chap at their office about the fact despite being on the mailing list, I had long since stopped receiving anything. Bottom line was he sorted it out, not perfec...

Re: Top 45 Watch Forums

I don't think it's very accurate, it claims TWF only gets 3 posts a day, well that's my understanding anyway and TZ only 30. Both wildly innacurate.

Re: C65 Aquitaine GMT second hand scuffs, opinion?

Agree with others, the cost of production is irrelevant. Its clearly not right and detracts from the appearance of the watch and could affect any 'flipping' value. Give CW the opportunity to put it right or simply replace the watch.

Re: Christopher Ward becomes Everton's Official Global Timing Partner

^^^^ I have no inside knowledge other than CEO of CW, Mike France, is a long time supporter / follower of Everton FC. In that context this Sponsorship deal makes sense. Well, Tribus cut their own throat somewhat with an over-hasty response to the so-called super league, which was really dead in the...

Re: Christopher Ward becomes Everton's Official Global Timing Partner

I wonder what the cost to CW is? I wonder if they will produce an 'Everton' watch? Worth noting that Everton and Liveropool are miles apart when it comes to global branding / recognition. Can't see the Everton players being too chuffed if they have to wear a CW as part of the deal - maybe we'll see ...

Re: Your thoughts on history class

1. Did you like history classes when in school? Or maybe some but not others? Yes, it was my favourite subject, along with art. 2. Whether yes or no, was it the subject (what subject?) or the teacher that captured, or lost, your interest? At primary school, it was both, the teacher I had for all but...

Re: C65 Aquitaine GMT - Orca Black

The seconds hand is stainless with the old radium lume. You could well be right, it looked white by the trident on the photo that was posted at the start of this thread. Thinking about it, I am sure it is SS. I think I went somewhat OTT on the detail. But my comments reflect my initial impression o...

Re: C65 Aquitaine GMT - Orca Black

Well...that is just a very fine lookin' watch! Anyone who says anything to the contrary is just nit-pickin'. End. Of. Des That'll be me then. I think it's a dog's dinner of a design. The dial and bezel look disjointed to me, as if they have come from different watches. I look at the dial and I thin...

Re: How do you define a microbrand?

The difficulty is separating the basic kickstarter / microbrands, ranging from the ridiculous to the okay and generally sold on-line, from their high end brethren, such as the seemingly ubiquitous Mosers and FP Journe's of this World. Which whilst small in number, are on trend and sold at various hi...

Re: Advert says there's a price drop

Unless it’s from CW themselves, it seems likely to be a clickbait spam site - or worse. Not worth your time or your device’s security. I don't think it's spam. The company behind the adverts provide a link to their website on every ad I have seen. And CW, or an agency on their behalf, must sign up ...

Advert says there's a price drop

Not trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill here, but this appeared on my screen a little earlier: https://i.postimg.cc/1RDk00FY/thumbnail-20220523-121449.jpg So, I went to the CW website and there is no price drop. Or at least, not as far as I could see. And it made me wonder how much control ...

Re: New pinion

Saying 38mm is too small is a bit premature, and depending on the design 38 can be bang on the money. Just look at the new GS Heritage releases or the Nomos Club #NomiesforLife. Or of course the Explorer at 36mm. Bigger isn’t always better. And 38mm is too small for me. That's simply how it is. I d...
