Re: Schofield Obscura

Have I lost the plot? No. Its brilliant and totally unique. Every part of the watch, bar the movement, is completely unique. Not a generic part of the usual 'rent a mob' we normally get served as fodder, in sight. It's art v artefact (as per the bumph) v watch and I'm not sure which is most importa...

Re: What watch was Emma Hayes wearing?

Chelsea's watch sponsor is Hublot, but I guess that doesn't apply to the ladies team?

Re: New Bremont logo?

I met Davide Cerrato a couple of weeks ago at an event in London. He was charming yet subdued, and I sensed there was a definite acknowledgment that the W&W launches hadn’t gone down as well as hoped. That has to be the understatement of the century! Much of the mainstream watch media has ignor...

Re: Should CW go 'all in' on The Twelve?

For the twelve to become a signature watch, they would need to introduce other dials, and possibly bezels that aren't so 'distinctive' (being kind here). Might actually be easier designing an alternative? I don't actually like anything about the actual watch whatsover, in particular, the bezel and d...

Re: The Twelve X (Ti) - Released

Its not for me, but it's still an impressive acheivement by CW. I saw it first on watchpro earlier, and my initial thought was how did they manage that on the day of launch? Especially as all they ever seem to be bothered with thesee days is Rolex, Patek, and latterly Tudor and their ilk. And yes, I...

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread

Why has it taken me until now to discover FP Journe??? I'll have these two thanks - no don't complete the sale just yet, I'm certain I'll be adding more  I have seen a few in the flesh, and for me, the ones I have seen, seem flat and don't have the wow factor the renders offer. I haven...

Re: New Bremont logo?

Apparently the brothers retain 1% equity in the business. The bigger question is how much they have walked away with? But they no longer have any significant control over the company. Cerrato never had any to begin with. Those that do are not at the Wing, 'hoping to ride the storm'. They are 1000's...

Re: New Bremont logo?

Had Bremont not changed, could it have gone under? Maybe – who knows…The watch industry is a different beast than it was 10-15 years ago and larger brands need to adapt or die. I dont think the brand would go under - or didn't and it's certainly not a 'larger brand'. Bill Ackman has been a long ter...

Re: New Bremont logo?

Even the few comments in response to the FT article are disdainful of the changes.

It seems Cerrato has taken a hatchet to the brand, rather than planning any evolution.

I hope he fails miserably. It's certainly an underwhelming beginning.

Re: New Bremont logo?

I think now is probably the time to start looking for a previous generation Supermarine with a Trip-Tick case. The only saving grace is that these are the new cheaper / tackier entry level models. So hopefully the trip-tick case will still feature in the mainstream range. It's hard to imagine how a...

Re: New Bremont logo?

What I’m more concerned about with the new Bremont direction the new CEO is taking isn’t the logo, it’s been the talk of scaling back the plans for bringing everything to their headquarters at the wing and starting more production abroad. It was their watchmaking aims and bringing watchmaking to th...
