Re: Movement Quirks

I wouldn’t call it a quirk, as it was designed to do what it does. :) But on the basis that most chronograph dials/movements tend to follow one of a small number of formats, I give you something different. The JLC caliber 859, as used in the Reverso Gran Sport chronograph. A rectangular 317 part mov...

Re: Non CW of the Day

As we are now in autumn, I thought I would dust off and give an airing to one of my autumn/winter watches.

Not worn since early April.

Re: Incoming!

One that you previously sold?

- last week,

- last month,

- last year.

:)

You could have caused excitement by posting in the “other brands” section, so that I could have guessed “day-date”!

Re: Just a place to put nice pictures you’ve taken

^^^ My pics are from a few years ago. Are you on Kefalonia at the moment?

I always think that Myrtos looks better from where our pics were taken, than being on the beach itself. :)

Re: Is the Sellita SW200 a good movement?

^^^ Interesting. :)

I guess folk will have to decide:

- Simon Freese, or

- Your watchmaker acquaintance?

Re: How many watches do you take on holiday?

Ended up taking six. Do you always wear one going up a hill and one coming down? Or were you just pulling our legs with your pics?! Doesn’t everyone? :) I did on the recent occasions, that I posted one in the non CW of the day and one in the CW of the day, an hour or so apart. However I just wanted...

Re: Is the Sellita SW200 a good movement?

I found this short video by Simon Freese interesting: Thanks for posting that Pete. Experts eh, who needs them… What does he know about watches. :) He reckons it’s a good movement. But my experience is that they all suffer from spinning rotor system, due to sticking reverser wheels...

Re: How many watches do you take on holiday?

Just returned from a walking holiday. A week in the Highlands and a week in the Lake District.

Was going to take four watches. Explorer, Explorer 2 polar, C63 LE Jura green and C63GMT blue.

Ended up taking six. Added the C63 LE Acer red and Standard Speedmaster at the last minute.

Re: CWL of the day

Back home after a couple of weeks holiday, restricted to six watches. Time for a switch to one they stayed at home. My favourite CW. One of the watches I took on holiday was the C63GMT Sealander, nice watch, but feels rather ordinary compared to the C65GMT Aquitaine. :) 3662F611-5709-4AC2-A8F6-23E77...

Re: An Early Milestone

Well played sir! Actually I picked it immediately from the 41mm/11.2/ polished 3,6,9,12. I should get a life... :) A JLC for a milestone watch. What could be better? ABSOLUTELY thrilled for you! As did I Chris. :) Congratulations Iain. A lovely watch, from the watchmaker’s watchmaker. Well played. ...
