Re: How do you define a 'Sports Watch' ??

Years ago, I scampered and slithered up Ayers Rock wearing my trusty everyday wear, a Pulsar quartz, that I guess looked sort of dressy (makes me shudder now), but I was really just copying the example of Hilary, who conquered Everest wearing a dress watch!  https://i.postimg.cc/3JCdwcH...

Thanks for your thoughts on the Explorers I and II Neil. Maybe they're the ultimate 2 watch collection???
Whilst I get queasy at the thought of drastically reducing my collection, I am absolutely certain that they would both stay in a cull down to 6.

Re: How do you define a 'Sports Watch' ??

So 'smart-dressy-type-watch-on-a-bracelet' is another subheading I have to get my head around?! I suppose to choose a different manufacturer my confusion could be represented by the Rolex Explorer I and the Explorer II. I'd take my explorer II out to do sporty things like hiking, camping, swi...

Re: How do you define a 'Sports Watch' ??

Good question Lindsey! :)

Interesting that you referenced GS.

In that context, is this a sports watch or a smart dressy type watch on a bracelet?

Is the answer also potentially influenced by the setting in which the watch is worn...

An interesting move from Citizen...

Citizen occasionally quartz make watches that whilst unappreciated by many are the equal of many Grand Seiko quartz models. This new mechanical release looks an interesting move, at a punchy price point. For me it ticks many boxes. I like the look of it and am keen to handle one, once things are bac...

Re: INTRODUCING: The Seiko Presage Sharp Edged GMT Collection oozes robust elegance

I liked the look of the three hander sharp edged models when introduced last year. The green in particular.

Interested to handle one of these once the shops are open again. Keen to see how the case finishing, bracelet and dial compare to a GS.

Sunburst dials require sunlight. No chance today. It’s a rather grey day.

Re: Coronavirus Vaccine.

Well, this is fun! Vaccination invite letter waiting on the mat last night. Tried to book online, but could only get places in Suffolk/Essex (min. 80 mile round trip). Same this morning. Rang 119 and got through quite quickly (I was at work so not much time). Apparently this latest release of invit...

Re: How do you like colour in your watches?

I do occasionally like to wear watches dominated by the colour of the dial, or a loud strap. A quick look tells me that I have the following dial colours covered: White, cream, silver, champagne, yellow, orange, brown, green and blue. As well as the ubiquitous black. However a look at my favourite w...

^^^ A gardening morning here too. Whilst Mrs nbg is hacking back the Buddleia, I am trying to be useful by making coffee. :)
