Re: Another CS nightmare (still in progress)

The point that on this occasion MF has acknowledged there is a problem speaks volumes and fair play to him for fronting up and stating they will fix it. Neil As armchair commentators it's all too easy to demand action but a kneejerk is no use and lasting fixes are not implemented overnight. I hope ...

Re: Another CS nightmare (still in progress)

Just a fluke on my experiences, probably not. Probably some truth to poor quality control and customer service. We can play the numbers game with the forum only being a small percentage. I have taken statistics at a high level. If a sample is indicative of a pool, and the pool error rate increases ...

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread

Vacheron-Constantin Fifty-Six Complete Calendar https://www.ablogtowatch.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Vacheron-Constantin-FiftySix-Complete-Calendar-featured.jpg I do like the new blue version. I tried on the original releases of both the CC and the simple three hander. I liked the size and shape...

Re: Bad experience with Christopher ward watch and it's customer services

My C60 MK1 is in for a service and I've been quoted £250 + return postage , battery change on another was £20. Have to admit to being surprised at the service cost because all the threads I'd searched mentioned £150! My C60 mk1 was serviced last summer for £99. I can't believe the price has gone up...

Re: Review of Trident Elite 1000 LE by Fratello

Well balanced and positive review. The bit that reminded me of one of my previous errors was the reference to orange and how he wasn’t sure how he would think about it in 10 years time! :D I remember nearly buying a LV Kermit many years ago. Changed my mind because I thought the green bezel would b...

Review of Trident Elite 1000 LE by Fratello

Unlike many of the watch review and blog sites, that often seem be run by people with limited horological knowledge, the folk at Fratello know which way is up.

A good review of the Elite.

Re: Any tips for cleaning a watch?

My method re steel sports or dive watches that are worn on a bracelet, rubber, sailcloth or Nato is to rinse them under a tap when I take them off, using soap if they have been worn in the sea, for cooking, or for anything else that would get them grubby. If the watch is on a leather strap, it’s not...

Re: Bad experience with Christopher ward watch and it's customer services

Glad I'm not the only one to think it's steep for a 3 handed quartz. A Chronograph or thermo compansated movement i could sort of get unless there is a lot more wrong with it than a new battery but then a new ETA movement can't cost that much can it. CW have just quoted me £150 for servicing a C600...

Re: Another CS nightmare (still in progress)

I have never paid up front for a service.

Perhaps that just means most of the brands I own, excluding CW, don’t follow “industry standard”.....

Re: Mind the gap?

Patrick you may be able to close the gap a bit, by trying to stretch/work the leather a bit.

Good colour strap.

Re: THIS is how it's done

Excellent, dealt with as you would expect. I also recently had a good super fast repair under warranty experience, from a brand at the opposite end of the scale, in terms of number of watches sold per year. https://www.christopherwardforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=52110&p=774433&hilit=Pinio...

Re: Change in 60 Month Warranty Policy?

My thought on this: * No problem for me that they require the watch to be serviced for the full 60 months warranty to apply. Seems reasonable. I have to disagree that is reasonable when other manufacturers do not require a service for their 5 year warranty to apply, though of course they have servi...

Re: Change in 60 Month Warranty Policy?

Not seen any documentation previously insisting on a service within the warranty period - so unless this service is free, which it doesn't appear to be then that's a significant change. My perception (as a customer) is CW are advertising a 5 year warranty, but I have to pay for a service in the fir...
