Re: GMT hand alignment allowable tolerance

Having the hands aligned is hardly a tolerance issue. They are either aligned or not. It is simply pass or fail. I really is not so black&white. The 2893 is known to have some alignment issues with the GMT hand . There's a significant slack in the general time setting mechanism of these movements, ...

Re: GMT hand alignment allowable tolerance

What if... The watch was fine until it traveled back to you. So, did transit upset it? You send pics and they say “send it back” because they see the issue. Transit back upsets the position again and when they look, the issue is less than it was and therefore, now in tolerance with nothing to corre...

Re: GMT hand alignment allowable tolerance

Anything other than perfect would not be acceptable to me. I do think that a lot of GMT second timezone indicators are far from perfect. I had a couple of Frederique constant GMTs with 2 separate displays. It didn't take more than a couple of adjustments for them to get out of synch...

I know this watch isn’t perfect to some (with the “second” moon still visible) but I really like it.
I think there is a lot to like with this watch. The date indicator is pretty cool too!!

Re: Vintage Oak Leather Strap

Here is the newly arrived CW canvas strap on my Ombré. You can also see the wear on the original strap and how that compares to how it looks when new. I’ve probably only worn the watch maybe 20-30 times. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20201021/68ac5daf8a090359710696a68cc49d5c.jpg https://uploads....

Vintage Oak Leather Strap

Is it just me or is this not only the worst strap in the world but it also looks horrible??? I have owned 2 of these straps (coming on watches direct from CW). To my mind they look awful but whats even worse is that the dark bits just flake off leaving a sort of diarrhea coloured strap with tiny bit...

Re: Love a Steinhart Vintage GMT

Just thought I would post the outcome. Somebody on this forum kindly offered me theirs for £375. I was not in a financial position to go ahead with the purchase, but a week or so later I contacted him. Unfortunately it was then sold. For several months I had been looking for a good used one, but wi...

Going through my old mail today and there is a $125 voucher from CW. I really don't need another watch but this voucher is staring me in the face :-k
