H Samuel "Defiance" Pocket Watch

Hi everyone

I have just been given this pocket watch. It apprears to be either silver or stainless steel and the only other thing I can tell you is that it is at least 45 years old possibly older.

Can anyone enlighten me as to its origins etc

LE 2009 delivery date?

Can anyone tell me when these watches are likely to be dispatched? The last I heard it was sometime in November or early December. I guess this has now been put back.

Re: Where do your CWL's sit in your collection?

My CW are at the lower end of the price scale for my watches, although I do have a few quirky cheaper watches like a Swatch ski watch and a couple of other makes. The dearer end of the scale are my Omegas, my Planet Ocean QoS LE and my Seamaster LE

Re: The natives are revolting!

Seems as if there is a bit of a mixed bag here. Some have been very fortunate with the quality of their watches and others not so

It would be nice if we're all 100% satisfied, but I guess Utopia does not really exist

Re: The natives are revolting!

Personally I had a problem with my Kingfisher LE, but to give Chris credit he did repair it, albeit the movement has developed the same fault as before and when it was returned there was some dust inside the crystal face. However, the watch works fine, I just have to remember not to wind it more tha...

The natives are revolting!

Not been on here for a while, but it seems that there may be trouble at mill. I have never read so many grumbles and complaints about Chris' watch quality before. It is sad really because Chris had such a good reputation for producing high quality watches at an affordable price. it seems now...

Re: My sad (epic) tale with CW

I had a problem with the movement on my Kingfisher LE and sent it back. It came back with a new movement, but this has developed the exact same problem, which makes me wonder whether the movement was indeed changed (it is very stiff to wind and has a whirring sound when wound up as if it is ceasing)...

Why not ask Chris why he prefers to have Forum 2009 on the dial.....or is the decision with us as members?

Re: Order your 2009 Forum LE now!

Hi

Not been around for a while and not had any real input into the LE design so cannot moan. However, I do think it would have been better without "Forum LE 2009"

If there is huge negative feedback about the Forum bit, will it make any difference?

Re: Problem with my Kingfisher LE

Hi This may sound incredible, but it is true! I returned my watch to Chris and he replaced the movement for me no problem. However, several months later I have exactly the same problem with the new movement. As I alternate my watches I need to rewind my Kingfisher to get it going again if I have not...
