Re: the forums new look...
Here is a way to set the background color to anything you want. There are many css style changers for other browsers but this is one the easiest I found. Excellent suggestion. Yes, good way of getting around the problem, but I don't really want to have to make my own alterations to someone else's w...

Re: the forums new look...
However, the black outer border is starting to get irritating; particularly on my PC's widescreen monitor where it occupies approx 20%, either side 40% total, of the webpage. Unless I zoom to 150%, when it reduces to <5% either side. I've not been a regular poster here lately, but still drop in fro...

Re: C8 UTC Worldtimer announcement Thursday
Much prefer the look of the stainless case over the black. Also good to see a colour matched date wheel. Unfortunately, for me, those hands and the logo would rule it out.

Re: BBC ignores CW
Might be worth dropping Daniel Thomas from the BBC an email asking why CW was ommited. CW sales in units are nearly double Bremont. A tiny amount of final assembly in the UK hardly makes Bremont a UK manufacturer. CW are in no way a British watchmaker though. They may be a British retailer, who als...

Re: Is it really that bad, pros?
Over the last couple of months it's clear something is wrong... ...the reputation for good customer service is taking a big hit. None of which is right or excusable. Those at the top should be concerned and investigating. Exactly right. As I've just said on another thread, for a company which pride...

Re: Many unhappy returns
There seems to be systemic problems with unchecked items leaving CW it needs addressing Quickly when you send a watch back for repair you should receive an email saying who the person is responsible for the claim and they should fully test the watch and check all items before it leaves with a paper...

Re: Hands and indices not matching up
Still perfectly acceptable to ask for that exchange though in my view, and if the company are unable to provide one that is any better, then you'd be perfectly within your rights to decide to send it back for a refund.

Re: Can we talk about Oris for a minute?
Hi PDD. The Sixty-Five isn't for me (just on personal taste), but I rate Oris generally very highly. All the models I've looked at appear to be very nicely put together, and plenty of their designs do appeal to me. I currently have one of their motorsport inspired watches on a steel bracelet which i...

Re: 9 weeks for repair, Wrong Watch returned today!
This has been said before, but it's most odd that CW don't use the watch serial numbers for any sort of tracking. For me, when a watch is sold, serviced, repaired, or posted, identifying it by it's serial number just makes sense. I'm perplexed as to why CW don't think so too.

Re: 9 weeks for repair, Wrong Watch returned today!
Just a thought..... As I understand it, the watches are produced (or at least assembled in Switzerland) before being sent over to Maidenhead. From there, they are quality checked, orders taken and processed, packaged for shipping, and sent out. Any returns are received in Maidenhead and (aside from ...

Re: Garden tools
I use a Spear & Jackson spade and a set of their ratchet anvil loppers, and the build quality appears to be excellent. They get some pretty heavy use, and are holding up well a couple of years into ownership. Sorry, can't help with any other brands, although we do have a fair few Fiskars product...

Re: Vapaus - new Swiss Made UK based brand
Glad you're getting glowing reviews Oliver. I really do think the date wheel is a masterstroke, as mismatched colours can really put me off a watch, so well done for being bold enough to take on the extra expense of doing this.

Re: Vapaus - new Swiss Made UK based brand
Nice to see that they've gone for not only the domed crystal, but also nicely colour matched date wheels. Nice looking piece. Unfortunately I'm not in a buying position at the moment, but if I was, it'd be the ice silver for me. Nice job Oliver (& Rudi).
