Re: Am I a ‘freak’…….

The head of the beer is intended to be there and it stops the CO2 from escaping too quickly and your pint going flat before you’ve finished it. Assuming we're ultimately debating whether beer taps should have a sparkler on them or not? Plenty of taste tests over the years suggest that as long as th...

Well done all; not for me but I imagine it's going to be a very successful FLE.

Re: Landing tomorrow…

Reading this evening's chatter on the CWE Group, Mike France reportedly referred in a recent video interview to a release of coloured dial Sealanders, similar to the 36mm LEs of a few weeks back, but in 39mm.  Guy Well that's a shame. Limited editions turning out to not be limited edit...

Re: Time to Reflect

If it's an FLE please do it the "easy" way that the Facebook group does. Another round of tedious complaints about not liking the design, "it's too expensive I'm out", it's too big, too small, make it green, make it red, etc isn't an attractive or exciting prospect. Based on not...

Re: WatchGecko and CW collab?

Haven't been won over by the Aquitaine but this is the best of the bunch. Reminds me another watch that I can't quite place. Feels a bit JLC Memovox/Polaris maybe?

Re: Are you a REAL ALE enthusiast?

Definitely enjoy a beer, perhaps more than I should. I like how real ale seems to be much more prevalent than it was 10-15 years ago, and we're moving away from only having one option in each pub. I enjoy trying different ones so get a bit frustrated when I see ubiquitous beers like Doom Bar everywh...

Re: Could or Couldn’t?

(I recall Steve/AVO recently lamenting how some people leave "I" out of the beginning of the sentence. Something I'm guilty of quite often.) Same here. I do it all of the time and never regret it  Whilst we're confessing to linguistic and grammatical faux pas, when ordering food/drin...

Re: Could or Couldn’t?

Grammar is an interesting one because my view of it often seems completely arbitrary. I'm a stickler for good grammar in my professional life but happily go against accepted norms when speaking or writing in a non-professional environment (e.g. here). And even professionally I have my limits. Do I r...

Re: Could or Couldn’t?

Every American kid of my generation was taught that it is no good, terrible, and very very bad (puppies will die, I tell you!) if you say “Me and John went to the store.” So now, people say “John and I” all the time, every time, and it drives me bonkers. Professional writers do it all the time, and...
