Re: Impulse Buys - Watches preferably, but not exclusively

I was out on a walk the other day and decided to pop into the corner shop for a Snickers Duo. Does that count?

Re: Watch "The Tudor North Flag Is A Forgotten Bargain"

It confirms what I already knew. It's a great watch but not for 99% of the watch buying population. You need to be able to think outside of the box and be a little different. Not sure I agree with that; it always seems to be held in high esteem when mentioned on this and other forums. I think it's ...

Great post; I love seeing pictures taken during a service.

Beautiful watch too.

15 year old AstroTurf football trainers

Thankfully not broken; just a chunk of skin ripped off and a badly bruised ego!

Re: Lockdown Boredom Relief

Great work, looking good (super heavy work, look after your back... I speak from experience). We all want to know what appropriate rough/tough watch you were wearing for this graft 😁. Definitely G-Shock work. Had to have a few days off after dropping one of the sleepers on my foot with less than op...

Re: Lockdown Boredom Relief

Took delivery of some repurposed railway sleepers just before lockdown. They were each ~5 metres in length and practically immovable (I weighed a 1.3 metre piece at 130kgs). 20200509_165924.jpg I'm very slowly (four brand new, now blunt, saws later) moving them to look like some raised beds. Will ge...

Just preparing to take some beef short ribs out
Nice! (The watch is merely ok!)

Early start for the beef ribs?
6am. Having a 2 year old and a 5 year old means I would've been up anyway so took the opportunity.

Re: Barton Elite Silicon

Hi! A bit of a thread bump but I'm considering getting a Barton Elite Silicon strap. I was going to get it from Amazon but saw on there lots of reviews saying the strap broke. How have peoples experiences of longevity been of these straps? I have a couple and have never had a problem with either. I...

Re: C60 Sapphire - New Release

Differing from you is getting 'my knickers in a twist'? That's a strange self-centered approach you've got going there.  Leaving daft comments to one side, I'm also interested in the narrative in Loupe: "Until now, people have thought the most durable dials ever to be Omega's ceramic d...

Re: C60 Sapphire - New Release

I don't get the 'story' of this watch. A see-through dial (yawn, Swatch has been doing that for years) looking into a basic movement. The story would have been much more interesting and coherent if the movement was an SH21 - there'd be somewhat of a point to the whole see-through thing. And the scr...
