Re: Little windfall

That looks good, IAJ. I'm definitely moving away from large case sizes and in the photos the height, lug to lug size and overall width of that Glycine look in excellent proportion. A very nice acquisition for you. Enjoy - and enjoy the pleasures of hot running water and heating!

Re: Happy Birthday Leo David

Thank you all very much for your kind birthday wishes. Travelling back from a long day working out of the office so not much of a celebration today and sadly no watch shaped presents as far as I'm aware. Thanks again.

My apologies, Richard. I didn't see that "out of stock" comment at the bottom of the web page. Nice watch though.

Re: Got a hankering for a black-cased watch

I'm playing catch up as usual. What about the Mühle Glashütte Terranaut in black. I very nearly pulled the trigger on one a while back before pulling myself up. The reason for putting on the brakes is that I simply don't wear my C600 Tri Tech, but the MG is a different proposition. Currently going f...

Re: The Independent

Independent was a very good newspaper with some excellent journalists... I agree and few were more eloquent or thought provoking than Robert Fisk. An excellent foreign policy observer. Sadly the paper degenerated a few years ago and I stopped buying it. I'm not sure the printed paper is really a vi...

Re: London..... thoughts??

I'm coming to this thread incredibly late but here's my tuppence worth. I was born in London's Holloway Road at the start of the 60s. I lived in London and went to school and then Poly (when such things existed) before going to Birkbeck college, University of London. I married (and regrettably divor...

Re: scooter's Road Trip

That looks like a very enjoyable day out, scooter. I still miss my biking days and often stop at bike dealers, pick up bike magazines and read them online. It's as close as I get to being on a bike these days Love the photos and the pipe on Conan Doyle's tombstone. You are fortunate to live in a ver...

While I agree, DM, if it is a relatively new watch I would certainly check the warranty wording carefully before sending it to an independent agent for service or repair in case it triggers an exclusion clause in the warranty.

Re: is this a marmite watch

I like it, like the case shape and like the GO on which it is based even more. It's a nice, sophisticated looking watch. Nothing to dislike in my view.

Re: 5000 posts and giveaway

Thank you, Om, for your very kind gesture and thank you chaps. I'm stunned and for once I'm speechless.

Thanks very much. I'm really chuffed and will definitely hold on to this unexpected prize which will have a special place in my modest collection.
