Re: Delivery timescales

One would imagine that the 1 pm deadline would be there in order to give them time to prep and package the watch for late afternoon dispatch and next working day delivery.

Fine Watch Club - New Norwich Store

https://www.finewatchclub.co.uk/ This has opened up recently in Norwich, specialising it seems in secondhand and vintage Omega, Rolex and other prestigious makes. I haven’t had chance to go and take a look yet, but will probably do so next week. Meanwhile, I wondered what people made of the website...

An interesting observation above about the Speedy being a momento rather than a practical everyday watch...
Though one perhaps not universally shared. Personally I find the Speedy eminently wearable and practical for day-to-day use.

Re: Do I want an Omega?

Interesting question, Patrick, and I guess it comes down to individual taste. There is probably also a consensus that you need to buy the watch as opposed to buying the brand. I had a quartz Omega as practically my only watch for many years, I have a lovely vintage one and of course the Speedy is my...

I have a feeling that Neil’s photo might be south of the border. I’ll have a stab at Derwentwater.

Re: FLE #8 design submissions

Chris, I’d be happy with the black or blue bezel as well, though preferring the blue in my case. I’m not sure I could live with that plain smoked dial, though. Might be a deal breaker for me... mind you, we need to dispose of the Dartmouth variant first!

Re: FLE #8 design submissions

I like that less than the solid dial, because you can see the less interesting side of the movement.

^^^Me too. I just love the dial with the twin flags!

But that is nice, especially the blue bezel version.

Re: Rugby World Cup

There’s nothing like both sets of fans in the same pub before and after a game, and being together in the stands. One of the great things about rugby is that this is possible!! Re: FLE #8 design submissions

Nicer and brighter but I just don’t take to the Dartmouth. I find the dial far too dominated by those huge minute markers.

Re: Rugby World Cup

Don’t talk to me about banter! I will never forget 17th March 1990 when I watched the Grand Slam decider in a room full of Scots!

I was living in Pitlochry at the time. Went to plenty of Murrayfield games in my eight years there, but couldn’t go to that one. Probably a good thing.
