Re: Ebay

Newer members won’t necessarily be aware that this whole question did raise its head on the forum about three years ago, when we had one or more members who were quite obviously reselling at a profit on the forum immediately after a sale. You can find the thread if you want to (it got pretty acrimon...

Re: The Curmudgeons Corner

It appears that Sir Philip Pullman is urging people to boycott the new 50p coin because the inscription on the back does not contain an Oxford comma.

Well, I’m not so fussy, Philip. Send them all to me and I will spend them on my favourite foods, coffee, and wine. 8)

Re: Blue is the Colour - SOTBDWC nbg - January 2020

Great post, Neil! I just put a recently sold blue dial C3 in the post yesterday, but I still have a couple. My C65 Trident Diver is probably the ultimate summer watch in my collection – looks fantastic on a nice sunny day.

Re: Please help - query on quoted run times and variable stopping

It seems that the best way to help the OP here is to try and establish whether he is indeed winding in enough power. If CW have checked and returned the watch stating that there is no problem, my suspicion is that he probably isn’t. I might well be wrong, of course, in which case I apologise. Not wa...

Those black ones with the tooling look very nice indeed, Graham.

After 10 days the chestnut strap on my Speedy is wearing in beautifully.

Re: C5 Malvern 595 Winding

Hello and welcome! I’ve handled the 595 a couple of times but never actually wound one, so can’t really comment. I’m sure other people with that experience will be along shortly. I have, however, owned quite a lot of manual wind watches. One finds that one becomes used to the feel of an individual m...

Re: Non CW of the Day

This is my calm watch. I wear it on stressful days to remind me that some things should be savoured. Like a fine claret, an AOC Roquefort, Greek Metrio coffee and 12-star Metaxa. But that's for later. I had to hit a report deadline and go to a funeral today, and I have to light a show tonight. Ah we...

It's a bit like some bod about to make a speech at lunchtime and the BBC tells you in the Breakfast News what they are going to say. I never understood that.

^^^Forgive the presumption here, but if a company is contracted to do someone's magazine, shouldn't they be letting their clients release it instead of splashing it all over social media. Or have the rules/protocols changed?
