Re: which marine watch?
Cant disagree with that Kip. may have to stretch the budget, that is a superb timepiece with swan neck adjuster et al. I would go for the arabic dial simply because my c1 Russell (whatever happened to that it was very nearly a deck watch anyway) has the roman numerals.

Re: which marine watch?
thanks for the quick and honest responses!!! I really like the Archimede, but it says about the dial: Silvered with black printed numerals or Black with luminous numerals I cannot get it out of my head that a marine watch should have a WHITE face (but the Archimede pictures show white!) I emailed Th...

Re: Your views on CW Watches and brand wanted
have just returned after a long lay off, and sad to say I am not keen on the new branding but moreover the pricing now puts me off CW. I have 5 cw watches in the family, but for me CW now has too many choices, which has lost the individualism they used to have, and the prices take you into a lot of ...

which marine watch?
there is now a choice of 3! I particularly like the Archimede: http://www.archimede-uhren.de/EN/Deckwatch-A.htm but it says the dial is silvered, and not white which is essential for this type of watch (although it looks white in the photos!) Then there is the Steinhart: http://www.steinhartwatches....

Ladies Watches?
My wife now works at Gatwick on baggage check. Yesterday a lady spotted her CW Divine Carre, and commented that it was the nicest watch she had ever seen, and assumed it was a Rolex! My wife put her straight and suggested she visit the CW web site. Looking on the CW site today, I have to say what ha...

Re: poor mans stowa mariner?
I am surprised Chris hasnt reacted, would have thought this is his sort of watch?
Will be going for the archimede, I really like the classic simplicity, I am not a fan of some of Chris's over complex designs.
And what happened to the C1 Russell? so glad I bought one whilst I could.................

Re: My Personal Thoughts.....
What is interesting is that Chris is a diver, I would have thought he would have wanted a more robust bracelet, along the lines of the Rolex or even my Grovana Corel Reef...........curious. Whilst I like some of the current range there isnt anything with enough wow for me to press the button, at lea...

Re: Full winding ETA 2824-2 movement!!
My Archmede pilot does not have a screw down crown so I wind it regularly with no ill effect. It seems to have a far better power reserve than my coral reef (wonder if that has a sellita movement?)

Re: Archimede
I have the 39mm pilot and love it! Its very accurate I think Mr Ickler must regulate them before sending out. The finish is excellent, well up there with CW and the undecorated movement suits the style of the watch my review is posted here: http://www.christopherwardforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t...

Re: The price increase
The £ has fallen more than 30% against the yen and other major currencies, Nikon and Canon prices have soared as a result so the CW increase although unwelcome is not unexpected. Toyota and other Japanese MFrs have a big problem they need to hike prices but themarket wont stand it...........

Re: C8 stopping
I have an archimedes pilot and a Grovana Corel Reef, both with 2824 movts. The pilot has a MUCH longer power reserve and I have no idea why. Maybe the Grovana is in fact a sellita movt?

Re: C1SWT (White dial/Brown leather, Swiss Made)
without doubt one of the nicest and under rated in the whole range, the photos do not in any way do it justice, the hands are blued, and I continue to be awed at the fine ness (sp!) of the hands and markings on this watch. look forward tio some really good pics, my pics wernt that good and dint do i...
