Re: Am I being stupid?
Other than this small issue, the watch is gorgeous, so I'm willing to give it and daz the benefit of the doubt. I'll book a time and send it to CW for a fix next week sometime. Thanks for all your help. :D Chris will sort it for you James. I am sorry that this has occured, but as mentioned I never ...

Re: Am I being stupid?
Carl why wouldn't he honour the warranty? I bought a C5 Aviotor off eBay. The watch worked fine when manually wind but on the winder or wrist it would stop. The rotor was obviously faulty. CWL repaired it as it was only 3 years old. No problem even though I was not the original owner. I think you n...

Re: Am I being stupid?
James if you could refrain from wearing the watch please for the moment until this is sorted one way or another. I will happily take the watch back and return the monies to you if you wish. I only ask that no extra wear and tear (scratches etc) are added to the watch in the meantime.

Re: Am I being stupid?
Carl why wouldn't he honour the warranty? It's no different than if it was a gift for someone surely. I will take the watch back from voxegem if it comes to it. I would never leave him with a broken watch. But I can't see why Chris would baulk at fixing it. If it's a defective movement then he has t...

Re: January Sale 'nearly new'
Does this behaviour sound even remotely... familiar? In a word, No... Just made a quick scan of the 2 Jan Sale threads and the few 'Just purchased' threads -- no apparent posters from the US. Not sure if that's based on regional brand impact / popularity or not, but is an observation nevertheless. ...

Re: January Sale 'nearly new'
You never know, even if the order doesn't go through, you may still get the quidco ;) As much as I like free money (and I do) I would rather have the bargain C40! They were still showing as available gone 1PM this afternoon. So if the system was not linked to actual stock I think there will be a LO...

Re: January Sale 'nearly new'
I expect a few people may be in for some disappointment, as I'd imagine there was only one C40... but you never know. I'd like to think the new website/system is connected to a live stock database... Am I being naive? I think that was supposed to be the idea... but I will wait and see. I really do ...

Re: January Sale
Website has crashed. Both Chris' own and the payment ones. I have a C40 in cart and neither normal VISA processing or Paypal will go through. A shambles. Not blaming Chris. He is a watchmaker. I work in IT. But Chris, get your capacity sorted out for these sales!
I hope I don't lose my C40!

Re: Name that C40 Contest
Well it's an evolution of the Peregrine.. so why not Peregrine "Evolution" (a bit Mitsubishi Evo but not trademarked I doubt). And it can also go up in numbers as Chris does new/revised models. So no more having to find a new name everytime. Breitling have the Colt 2 after all. CW could ha...

Re: C40 Speedbird
YUM YUM YUM!
This is it! The ONE I have been waiting for from CW. A swiss made auto, chrono with an exhibition back. And based on my fav CW the Peregrine too boot.
Sod the Breitling - this is going to bust my no-spending during recession pledge
Top-man Chris.

Re: Fakes - Can you risk buyng from anyone other than an AD?
Just to put a little twist on things. To cut a long story short it turned out that an ex- (and subsequently imprisoned) employee was swapping watches at the point of sale with fakes. Luckily the owner knew me and accepted that I wasn't trying to scam him, which would have been fairly tricky for me ...

Fakes - Can you risk buyng from anyone other than an AD?
Or perhaps that title should be can a mere 'non-geek' watch lover buy from anywhere other than an AD? I say this having watched some truly scary videos on Youtube from Breitlingsource.com reviewing what can only be described as the most amazingly accurate (and indeed high quality) fakes. So good in ...
