Re: CWL Online Questionnaire
Same here... no worky in Firefox 2.0.0.12.
However, as in many of these kind of questionnaires, I have trouble finding an answer from the multiple choice that accurately reflects my feelings, so they'd probably have got the wrong impression anyway, if it had worked.

Re: Stowa Marine Original
Having browsed a few forums and review sites of late, I see what you mean. It is a fantastic looking watch though, so I may be tempted later in the year... maybe.I think the Stowa is overpriced but it is overpriced because it is a popular brand amongst collectors.

Re: Stowa Marine Original
you could buy two of them for the same price as the Stowa auto. So I would suggest, as we yet can not purchase a hand wound from CW that the Marine Original Stowa is the best value. I agree... I already have a 2824-2 equipped Aviator, so purely for the sake of variety, the manual Marine is a more a...

Hans, was it the manual version that you bought? There's quite a price-premium for it isn't there, about £500 compared to £325 for the auto?

Re: Stowa Marine Original
I've been resisting the temptation to buy a Stowa Marine for months now, purely down to financial constraints. It's a bloody gorgeous watch. However, it will happen, either in Summer this year or as soon as possible thereafter. I've just splurged on new wooden flooring and a leather suite, so it may...

Re: DIY Watchwinder-any ideas?
Anyone know where to get an equivalent priced UK voltage version or similar? That price (about £20) wouldn't cover a quarter of the price of most non-winder cases I've seen so far.

Re: Question re: white-dialed aviator
Yeah, it's that olde-time thing that draws me towards white or cream-faced watches. My C5 Aviator, the Stowa Marine, the Dornblüth 99.3 in rose-gold... all "my" kind of watch, and I'm sure a C1 will be in my collection in the near future. ...but I can "see" your point Joe, I do m...

Re: Question re: white-dialed aviator
Only you can decide which one to go for, and my opinion would likely be biased by the fact that I much prefer light-faced watches in general.

Re: Question re: white-dialed aviator
Joe is right - no lume on the numerals, just the hour and minute hands, and the triangle at 12. The numerals are black gloss, and stand proud of the face by about 0.5mm. The second-hand is also black gloss, has a sweep-motion, and the dial has a two-layered design, with the "second-marked"...

Re: ********THE OFFICIAL WINE THREAD********
Hmmm... that Leopard's Leap Pinotage Shiraz I was talking about turned out to be a bit, meh... Kinda harsh, metallic, and no afters to shout about either. It was rather cheap though - £3.99 reduced from £6.99. Oh well, it's the Green Label "President's Selection" Wolf Blass tonight, and it...

Re: What is your 2008 watch-wishlist?
What is your 2008 watch-wishlist? Well, since I've now got 2 CWLs (C5 return/replacement notwithstanding), unless Chris brings out an auto or manual C1, I reckon my next watch (Summer 2008 at the earliest) will be a Stowa Marine (auto), although I'll struggle to justify that 2xCWL price for what se...
