Re: A Lasting Legacy - Important News from Christopher Ward

A turnover of £200 million in the future? - so somewhere in the region of 15- 20 times the current level of sales (if we take the oft quoted number of 20,000 pa and assume an average price of around £600 per watch). This time next year Rodney we'll be millionaire's!! 8) Cheers, Paul Yes, a lot of s...

Re: Tritech C600 IPK

Probably one of the nicest watches they ever did. I had one, sold it, regretted it - a familiar story with me!

Enjoy it, Christopher Ward won't make another one quite so 'unassuming' and utilitarian, it's all disruptive and uninspired nonsense these days.

Re: Steinhart .. they ship quickly :)

I have one of these myself, prefer it on a leather or canvas strap. Really recommended if you like the style, about half the cost of the equivalent Christopher Ward watch! ETA movement in there as well. The face is a very dark grey (black in some lights), and the vintage lume is a lovely tan/brown t...

Re: My C65 Trident GMT isn't waterproof!

CW doesn't have to so anything for free because the warranty is on the movement only. And clearly, this is not a movement issue and any other parts of the watch do not have a warranty at all. They may not have a warranty on the casing (which is bizarre to the extreme), but they do have to be fit fo...

I admire your very polite way of saying "...if CW are being downright disrespectful to the customer"!

Re: My C65 Trident GMT isn't waterproof!

I am aghast at this shambolic episode, although not totally surprised. However, this seems pretty simple to solve (I hope for the OP) - You have 6 months by UK law for a full refund (detailed here). https://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/advice/what-do-i-do-if-i-have-a-faulty-product Clearly CW's a...

Re: Is this a good price

Yes, agree with Laird - there is not enough info there to give you a decent answer. The C11 range was vast and wide, ranging from a Titanium diver at original price of £1150ish, down to the C11 Quartz Chrono that I believe was £299 when it was released. Love to help here, just need the exact model d...

Re: Paint has come off He valve, Elite 1000

CW does not build the HE valve and there has been only 1 recall for potentially defective valves that I know of and that was on the C11 Elite 5 years ago. I think in your defence of Christopher Ward, you've found the answer there Kip. Probably because CW don't build the HE valve is the reason it's ...

Re: Delayed watch service

I once took a Ford Sierra in for a service, and when I got it back, it had the interior of an old Ford Cortina. (I hope that joke isn't lost here!) This kind of 'switcharoo' is an insult to the customer, and his/her intelligence. Clearly not a mistake or human error, but a deliberate act. I am...

Re: Bad experience with Christopher ward watch and it's customer services

Mike France was always open about their pricing policy of "take the cost of the watch to them, and multiply by 3 to get the retail price". Perhaps that multiplyer is more like times 30 for quartz watch battery replacements? But then again, if they do replace the gaskets, then it would need a pressur...

Re: Exchanging Trident MK3

CW will never know that the other 97% will never order again. They'll only guess when sales start to drop. Thanks Essex Paul for taking the time to read my thoughts 'download'! However, I personally feel that sales won't drop off - there is a LOT of money put in to attracting new customers, but see...

Re: Small Bright Spot for CW Customer Service

Problem is that this experience is sales related. The back of the shop is still burning. :feuer: Agreed, whilst it's lovely that they have managed to sell you something that you wanted. They will take money extremely quickly and efficiently! This part of the process was never a problem. I hope for ...

Re: Exchanging Trident MK3

Based on the current 'noise' on the forum being all about bad after sales service, it seems we have gone from 1 SPOF (single point of failure) in Wera, to another SPOF in Declan. Unfortunately, the new SPOF doesn't even work in the Customer Services team as Showroom Manager, so are customers worse o...

That sounds hugely frustrating for you, I don't envy you, but you hopefully have more patience than me. Their honesty is all very well, but they have openly admitted that almost every part of the after-sales process has an issue. ....yet strangely enough ( and do correct me if I'm wrong ), I can bet...

Re: C60 Trident Mk3 - pictures..!

Having also now seen those photos, it is very 'generic diver' look with a small hint of Oris about it. Unfortunately, this talk of DNA won't matter to Chr.Ward as they appear to have little respect or desire for a heritage - and as a business owner myself I don't blame them for chasing the general p...
