Re: Luxury watches...worth it?

Mechanical watches stopped being a necessity and became a luxury when quartz watches became generally available at low prices. As an expression of human creativity and love of art and beauty they are priceless. If they are that then i agree, if they are the same old eta 2824 or seiko/myota auto kno...

Re: 10x the price... Worth it?

Nope. For one the Oris is stuck on an Oris strap, no choice. 2, money loss is far less on the Orient come resale. 3, once its been on the wrist for a few years you forget the quality and the original purchase price and just appreciate it for what it is....something that tells the time. 4. You can ma...

Re: How Careful / Paranoid Are You About Wearing Your Best / Most Treasured?

Sold all my prissy, luxury crowd pleasers due to having a toddler and being a biker, just can't wear them without devaluing them or feeling like they can't take the punishment. Why? Is your toddler a watch thief? :) And what does being a biker matter? The watch will be tucked away under your bike j...

Re: Wagstaff Watches

The only British thing is maybe the logo. The watch itself is an uncustomised model picked out of a Chinese catalogue for anyone to sell under their own name.

£95 makes this very expensive for what it is and how cheap you can get other stuff exactly like this.

Great choice, I've had mine for 4 years and have never babied it but it still looks mint without a scratch despite the mineral crystal.

Re: Quartz watch suggestions (not Christopher Ward)

I agree, go for the cwc. It's the most iconic British dive watch ever made and the watch with the longest active history of military service.

Re: Revenge?

Is this for real???? Sent from my Redmi Note 6 Pro using Tapatalk How they describe the quartz movement might be the best part, though. I was wearing my Tissot quartz chrono and after reading this had to change watches just because I felt so dirty. I don't have anything against quartz at all but wo...

Re: Mid-life crisis, challenge, bucket-list or life-long dream?

Nice I find nakeds more fun to ride and with less wind turbulance. If you get on with it well i dont really see the need to keep the GS. the kwak will do everything the gs would do and look/ feel better doing it. Shame you havent tried any small capacity bikes though Richard, theres even more joy to...
