Re: Ten years a forumite…

^^^When I arrived at the pub for that GTG the barman didn’t understand when I asked where the CW Watch meeting was happening (I think he just refused to negotiate with a Scottish accent). I had to ask with increasing volume about THE WATCH MEETING…. WATCHES?! The whole room probably heard me… I wou...

Re: Day/date watch poll

I like it. An early Bremont model had that day/date arrangement too, the 39mm BC-F1.

Re: The Naughty list !

@Noush Do you have evidence for the assertion that Oris would rate highly? In this year's recently released Watch Annual there's an interview with Rolf Studer co-CEO of Oris where he describes reducing flight emissions by 38.1% since 2022 made easier to achieve by using Whatsapp and Teams. There's ...

Re: Bremont Supermarine 302 Mk II

It's also not really practical to use a fitted end link against the knurled barrel. The original MB was never offered with a bracelet option, so I guess the straight-ended bracelet is some sort of compromise solution. My beef with Bremont bracelets is the lack of development. They have not changed ...

Re: Twelve years on - what’s changed?

I really enjoy hearing from people like @steviebee155 who don’t chat much day-to-day but have been around for ages - presumably watching the ongoings. There are some brilliant old-Skool CW collections around. Well put... Great post, thank goodness the logo is a logo now! ... especially consi...

Re: Bremont Supermarine 302 Mk II

^^^ The one thing I notice about the second photo up from the bottom is the bracelet has no end links and it doesn't look complete without them. Is it a thing to go without end links? It also looks like a brushed case and doesn't match the bracelet. I've read that Bremont bracelets aren't their stro...

Re: Bremont Supermarine 302 Mk II

I've seen these pics posted on a Bremont Fans thread over on facebook of Bicester shopping village and the discounts available - not my pics, just cropped screen shots of the user's posts. Good staff as well he reported. Screenshot 2023-11-06 14.43.06.png Screenshot 2023-11-06 14.42.44.png Screensho...

Re: Twelve years on - what’s changed?

@RichM Early publications were of the brochure type, and morphed into the magalogue style. Again, look at the CW Publications section of the archive. Looking back at the brochures actually the C8 is still the only model I would go for in the range on offer. The watches have definitely improved in s...

Re: Twelve years on - what’s changed?

I'm not sure back in 2009 there was an internet site (I'm happy to be corrected) and saw the ad for the C8 in the back of GQ or FHM magazine and ordered over the phone with an actual printed brochure. Imagine that! Actually, thinking about it, there must have been a website in 2009 musn't there? I ...

Re: Twelve years on - what’s changed?

Great OP. We've been around here for about the same length of time although your contribution somewhat outnumbers mine! My main observation I think is price. My C8 auto back in 2009 cost something like £280 and was clearly pitched along the lines of: you *could* buy an IWC Pilots Watch for £3.5K.......

Re: Bremont Supermarine 302 Mk II

^^^^ Yep, I used to call in to Bicester Village regularly - it's a very good motorway service station - but haven't been there for about 10 years since changing jobs.

I'll get a visit in soon to see the Bremont store!
