That's a lovely unmolested example. I had one that kept amazing time.
That looks really good.

Re: cheapy quartz fault help
OK, sorry I wasn't clear in the original post. I have regularly changed batteries on this watch and it has worked well. This time I took out the new battery after it showed the judders and checked the voltage - it was OK but the battery was out of date, so I bought some more (I always buy Renata) an...

cheapy quartz fault help
Carol asked be to put this watch right: carols watch.jpg It's value is mainly sentimental as we bought it in Switzerland at least 20 years ago. However I have swapped the batteries a few times and all has been fine, until now: With a new battery, all the second hand will do is an attempt to move eve...

Re: Battery change on C3 Malvern MK2
Lovely watch Ferg! In a similar vein, I am in the process of changing a couple of batteries for Carol's watches and decided that out of date batteries won't do, and that I really should invest in some better quality tiny 'drivers! Deliveries next week.

Re: Reviews - spoken or written?
My problem with video reviews is that I'm going to be influenced by the reviewer more than if I was reading their review.
Basically I'm an old fart with far too many inbuilt biases! If they all sounded like Josh, it would be fine.

Re: Auto manual wind noise
I am prepared to be corrected on this; but I understand that this is a known problem with this movement. Not a common problem, but a known one. If the problem wasn't present when the watch was prepared for sale, then there's no way that the person preparing the watch for dispatch would have known th...

Re: Targeted ads – rant alert!
I use a system called pi-hole. Basically it blocks ads and also the tracking features. There's an explanation here: https://pi-hole.net/ I use a separate Pi on my network which sorts out the blocking. It works across all devices on my network without installing ad blockers on the individual devices....

I make my own rubs and marinades. I like herbs and spices including pepper, wasabi and horseradish, but I just loath anything with chilli. So; I make my own flavourings.

Re: What would make CW Great?
Well.... I reckon that CW would improve their image if they had more confidence in their offering. Dial back on the marketing BS and tenuous 3rd party references and just let the product do the talking. It's a great product at a great price but sometimes I feel they're a bit 'shouty' about it. They ...

Re: One of the "Dirty Dozen" sold for £12,000
I saw the road show edition and said to Carol that the Omega had been undervalued at the time. I based this on the experience of sending my JLC '56 recase to auction late last year, when it realised a hammer price of £2300. And that was not one of the 'Dirty Dozen'. https://www.christopherwardforum....

Re: The Wordle Thread
I hate it when my stats get ruined by a couple of fails.
Particularly when I'm just guessing one last letter and I run out of luck before answers.
On lucky guesses; I find that unsatisfying, as suddenly it's over and I haven't applied much thought!

Re: Keep your computer up to date?
I've no idea how old my computers are. I use a desk top in the office and a laptop in the lounge. I suspect that they are both 10 years old. I only use them for email, internet browsing, spreadsheets and word processing. I've changed them both to run Ubuntu as my main form of security. Can't see any...
