Re: Schools Removing Analogue Clocks

What is happening at the schools now? Kids come out not being able to read... Have you seen how they try and teach reading? It's all phonetic, at least at my niece's school. Phonetics require an additional 'letter' ch (there may be more) and when making simple words out of bricks for her to read yo...

Re: Optik Instruments

So kinda like a Botta Uno 24 but with a spinny dual 12 hour dial instead of a hand pointing at a 24 hour one? No date either... I agree with Gary that the small numbers are too small too being as you have to read them. One good point of the design is you can chose which marker to read so can wear cr...

Re: FLE #7 Discussion Area

I wonder if this will affect their thinking for the next FLE.........if they do one. Let amateurs design a watch, they do a bad job and return it then you get stuck with them. I've never heard of a company accepting returns on a custom order and with good reason - you wanted this, you know that fla...

Sadly no super-rare triple phenomenon fun this side of the planet, but on the upside I went with the blue one

Re: Watch Strap Lengths

If you're between holes it's also possible to swap the buckle to a slightly longer or shorter one rather than replacing the whole strap, though if it's winter you might want to stick with it as your wrist will probably swell when the weather gets warmer...

^ How about a C65 on a butternut squash?

The combination of a shiny vegetable, phone camera, and no daylight makes for a very bad pic :problem:

Re: Credit where its due

I am also happy to report an improvement - for the second time I mistakenly ordered a 22mm strap for my 20mm watch (will I ever learn ) This time the order has been cancelled and refunded in a timely manner where last time I was told it was cancelled, but it still arrived. Not remarkable or pr...

Re: Martu Straps

^ It was sent a couple of days later than scooter's (and hours later in the day - might have missed the last post...) so assuming it takes the same time to get through customs you're probably looking at it 'arriving' on Monday or Tuesday, in my experience customs officers don't seem to work weekends...

Those fonts don't match any better than the modded options and the more serious shade of blue makes it a very different watch...

Things don't 'arrive' or appear on royal mail until they've cleared customs so should be with you tomorrow. Glad it's not lost

Re: Vostok Amphibia mods

^ The completely different fonts on both dials compared to the bezel would bother me, l really like the matching blue logo on the first option though so between the two probably that one.

Re: Next CW sale?

Just made my first purchase of this sale - an XS Bader strap. From the measurements given I think it might work on my wrist despite the near universal bad reviews - we shall see. If not I'll have the deployant for another strap for the same price as the Hirsch one so can't lose. Realised it's a 22m...

Re: 5 ways you might damage a mechanical watch

^ Thanks for that, it does attract and repel but can't work out which bit's responsible. Would help if it were on a strap so I could get the compass near the back, but it's not...

I think I'll record the accuracy before spending £100+ on a timegrapher, interesting as they look
