Re: Bronze Magrette Waterman

Well it has landed. Only a couple of weeks delayed over the original estimated delivery. The comms from the FORaSEC guys have been spot on from the point of making the initial reservation. Despatched from the Netherlands first thing yesterday and here in northern Blighty before lunch today so no res...

Re: Change in 60 Month Warranty Policy?

It does beg the question, say you had a CW, purchased new from CW and now almost 4 years old. Worn very, very infrequently, say 4 times a year at most. Would CW still recommend that the watch was serviced and if they did what reasons would they provide? I appreciate that under the, for new watches ...

Re: Coffee machine woes.

I'm in Ferg's camp. Simple Inissia style Nespresso machine with no milk gizmos to go wrong... I drink it strong and black anyway. Never had a problem with it and it's in constant use. For capsules I quickly went away from the real Nespresso pods at c£0.50 apiece. Aldi's Ristretto (16p per pod) is gr...

Re: Bronze Magrette Waterman

What is there to lose? Nothing in my book Guy. I've been on a bronze hunt for the last 6 months or more, and C60's have been in and out of the basket too many times. Having had a Moana chronograph before I know the Magrette brand and do actually regret letting that one go. I think this one looks st...

Re: Do you remember this......

I'm sure I've missed a few people off, but I recall the following attendees who still post occasionally: Alibar mabotham bspj Helix von Smelix Plus a few others who don't post any more. I'm still here on a daily basis but posting much less frequently. The laser cutter / etcher that produced the tri...

Re: Planet Ocean 8900 43.5 vs other watches

It is a long term goal but are discounts likely to be available from an AD or would a decent pre owned be more sensible?? "Discount" might be a dirty word to be used :). I have a PO and a Speedy from two different AD's and both were very accommodating - possibly after realising I was a genuine buye...

Re: Cryptic Crossword Competition!

I do like a good crossword. A pleasant hour racking my brain for watch brands has got me all but five but I am now completely stumped on the remainder. Hoping the usual crossword solvers trick of doing something totally unrelated may cause one or two of the others to spring back to mind. Thanks for ...

Re: Chat with Chris format change?

Zoom is a good platform for this sort of "event". Seen it used it for corporate level webinars / conference calls ranging from a couple of users to a couple of hundred. It will be a lot more organised and structured than the previous chats. Good move in my book.

Re: Where's Wally?

Many years ago, in my teens, I kept tropical fish. On my frugal teenage income, when the tank heater became temperamental, a fix was much preferred to buying a replacement. With the heater retrieved from the tank it turned out to be a 2 minute job due to nothing more than a loose internal connection...
