Re: Post a picture from your latest ride

I seem to have the same issues with rotating my bike collection as I did with watches. Having bought a BMW R1250RS towards the end of last year, I had the opportunity to trade it for something else last week. The trade deal meant I "made a profit" on the BMW, so it was a painless transacti...

Re: The Rolex Explorer

I've been wearing mine today, having read this thread last night. So far, I've sorted out the cat litter tray and been out doing some training on the bike.Once I'd had it on for a couple of minutes, I forgot about it, apart from using it to tell time a few times. It's just a watch. A high quality, c...

Re: From your largest to your smallest....

Excluding G-Shocks (which ain't proper anyway) my watches are tightly grouped between 39 and 43mm. Smallest is my Explorer and largest my MBII. I guess I've found my sweet spot.

Re: Connected…or not?

I carry my phone around with me when I'm awake, and I interact with friends and family via What's App. I'm also a member of several What's App groups and many of those have been set to silent, as they became far too invasive, due to some people who don't consider anyone else when they type their lat...

Re: A question for the retirees

I retired in 2018. Immediately, we went on several vacations. :) I was determined to take a complete break from my previous life, which was meetings, phone conferences, responsibilities, deadlines (so many deadlines) and dealing with people. I was done with that. I had no fixed plan but I knew I cou...

Being a man of such taste I bet it’s s casioak (2100 series) Nowt wrong with quartz in any form. My aerospace watches were all great I am nothing, if not predictable, Paul. :) The one with added Bluetooth, just to keep watch time synched with phone time. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240115/f7...

Re: Both battery powered; one shunned, one loved.

I just ordered a new (analog) G-Shock. I reckon it will be my only watch purchase this year, and I'll be selling off some others. Even at the height of my watch-mania I think I always kept a battery powered watch in the collection, including plenty of "expensive" quartz (GS / Sinn etc) wat...

What bikes are in your garage now?

Just seen this.

What BMW model is that? Buying certain expensive watches wisely can lead to greater things.

It's an R1250RS, scooter. Same engine/drivetrain as my GS but obviously slightly different bodywork etc, which makes for a different riding experience.

I don't know if there's been some sort of update, but I am gettng asked to accept cookies on a lot of sites that I have used regularly, both on my phone and my desktop. More than likely, your home internet is set up with "dynamic" IP addresses. This means your IP address can change over t...
