Re: Misery seeking company

An agonising experience. Wonder if Steinhart can supply you with a replacement bezel? Never had that kind of experience with my watches (so far!), but it must be right up there with a minor scratch on an otherwise pristine car: no one else really notices it, but you feel like you’re driving round in...

Re: Steinhart vs CW divers

Well, yes...the interchangeability of the words ‘replica’ and ‘homage’ never cease to amaze me! Guess Rolex must have concluded some time ago that it just makes the real thing that much more desirable. Having said that - and with great respect to those who do - I could just never justify shelling ou...

Re: Steinhart vs CW divers

Took the plunge, via Neil at Chronomaster. as per the comments above, lovely finish, good bracelet and - so far - very good timekeeping.

Re: Steinhart vs CW divers

Thanks for your reply, Johnny.

I already have an Aviation GMT (quality excellent) and a Nav B Chrono II (decent for a sub £1k 7750), but can't quite tell whether the Ocean One cuts the mustard as Steinhart’s photos are overdone studio shots. £400-500 doesn’t sound like much for a mechanical GMT.

Steinhart vs CW divers

After an IWC splurge last year, I’ve now found a few quid down the back of the sofa, so to speak, and am thinking of chucking it at a black/red Steinhart GMT Ocean One via Chronomaster. Mulling over whether the new CW alternatives are better (having steered clear of CW altogether for because of logo...

Get your pain in the photo uploads, Paul, but I’m among those who won’t touch Facebook with a bargepole.

I use three different social media apps, but Facebook’s ceaseless demands for info made me bale out years ago.

Very elegant, gaf. Particularly like the strap combo - overstitch always works for me.

Anybody come across these before? British, designed by the guy who used to be chief designer at Morgan Cars, interestingly...

Re: Bulova moon watch

Just joined the moon watch club. Remarkable deal on Amazon - £279. Incredible value for money at that price and a great piece of wrist real estate.

First watch I’ve bought since the family finances took a battering on a Portofino. And a nice way to warm-up to something else...

Re: Ending my association with CW.

Hmm. Credit where it's due - other than a quibble-free movement replacement on my C6, all of my CW's have been faultless. Even though some of them are getting on a bit, they still look remarkably high-quality timepieces.

But, new logo etc...

Re: Ending my association with CW.

Great post.

We change, CW changes. Always likely that there'll be some divergence. As long as that's accompanied by tolerance and respect then we're all good here.
