Re: Can a screw down crown unscrew itself?
@RichM you are probably familiar with the following procedure, but the instructor part of me is hard to suppress... 😬 Chances of doing damage are greater when you start the threading process. As it applies to any fine screw in order to avoid cross-threading, it is advised to 'seat' the crown onto t...

Re: Can a screw down crown unscrew itself?
Thank you, I'm normally worried about tightening it too much so I'll give it a bit extra and see!Greatpotfarm wrote: ↑Sat Jun 03, 2023 11:30 pm Yes it can, especially if not screwed down tight enough. Torque it down a bit harder than you usually do, and see what happens...

Re: You MUSTN’T wear it on leather!
Watches with lug holes drilled too near the case causing the leather strap to rub on the case. Bremont seem to be terminally guilty of this. Not too much a problem as all their straps come with curved ends and curved springbars. You can use the springbars in straight straps though and they create j...

Re: A Backward Step?
That is a stunning watch, and whilst it's always a personal thing, definitely not a backward step from my pov. I really like how you've caught the different looks of the watch in pics one and two.
Congratulations, it looks great.

Re: Can a screw down crown unscrew itself?
Apparently there’s this thing in car maintenance or building houses called tightening something ‘finger tight’. Or so they tell me anyway. Us girls never got taught this at school. So all I can say is that when I tighten a screw down crown I tighten it so hard that I can’t unscrew it next time. Us ...

Can a screw down crown unscrew itself?
I think I'm imagining it, but can a screw-in crown work its way loose again? I've noticed after a few wears, the crown on my C65 chrono needs tightening. I'm happy to live with it like that and just get into the habit of checking now and then (I take it off even to do the washing up!) but wondered i...

Re: Ward Hoard
I've sold a watch via the forum which was bought by Ward Hoard and had a very easy transaction and good outcome.
Based on that I'd have no hesitation buying from Ward Hoard too.

Re: Interesting (for me) incoming : It’s Here!
Also for me the IWC has genuine heritage when it comes to pilots watches and it's that history I fall for as much as anything. I'm a huge Bremont fan and whilst I've (literally) bought into the story of how the company was started and the inspiration behind the early pilots style watches there's no ...

Re: Interesting (for me) incoming : It’s Here!
I have huge watch envy, it looks really really good. This IWC is the reason I have the CW C8 MK1 (although now a little large at 44mm) as it was the "homage" version 12 years ago. On a personal note, I prefer the look of it it on a leather strap and would change those regularly to suit my ...
