Re: Time variance for date flip? 1:00 vs. 12:00?

Just to add to the reassurance here, the date change on mine starts at about 00.12 and completes by 00.50

Here's a pic of mine

Re: Tag Heuer - resurgence?

Other than the "Steve McQueen" Monaco, Tags have never really done it for me. Tbf, that Gulf model is cool but there's very little else of theirs that I like.

Re: "Private Eye" magazine

Private Eye readers are discerning dudes who really know where their towel is. (* Not Private Eye, another literary reference). They did (or maybe still do) advertise in certain other "gentlemen's" publications once found only on the top shelf at a newsagent. Do not ask me how I know this...

Re: The Christopher Ward of Pens

There is a "Watches and Pens" hashtag over on Instagram where these combined obsessions play out. I'm guessing that Mont Blanc and Visconti are the Rolex of the Pen World. Christopher Ward came out as a disruptor selling automatic watches direct to the buyer at an affordable price. I don't...

Re: More quartz watches to come?

^^^ I didn't know there's a cap set by the MOD.

I expect that's why Bremont always had such a good price when sold exclusively through the Military line, somewhere around £700 to £800 I think when the civilian equivalent might have been £3k or more.

Why is the cap imposed d'you know?

Re: More CW quality problems.

Yeah, my SH21 went back twice for (no fuss, to be fair) warranty repairs but it was a frustrating experience for an otherwise lovely watch.

Re: New Bremont logo?

I see that Nick English is also a now a co-owner of "The Thames Club - a conference and wellbeing centre" as well as the YardoLed Pen Company so it appears he is quickly moving on from Bremont. His wife Catherine Villeneuve from what I can tell from her posts on Instagram is still employed...

Re: A pop of colour...

Good thread! I'm getting more into watches with pops of colour. I generally wear classic muted colours with clothes - blues/greys/browns - and increasingly look for a watch to add a bit more visual interest. This one from Farer is floating my boat at the moment. It probably counts as more than a 'po...
