My new Christopher Ward C8 MKII pilot
My new Christopher Ward C8 MKII pilot
Hey Guys...I know everything below is probably nothing new to you(as fans of CW) but I thought I'd share a post I put up on one of the watch forums I frequent. I could not be HAPPIER with this watch.
-Shawn
So my latest is in and man oh man am I happy with THIS one!…I give you the Christopher Ward C8 MKII pilots watch. Here are the stats for it from their website.
. > Swiss made
. > 25 Jewel automatic movement
. > Incabloc anti-shock system
. > 38 Hour power reserve
. > Super-luminova hands and indices
. > Screw down back plate
. > Anti-reflective sapphire crystal
. > Soft iron anti-magnetic inner case and dial
. > Balance wheel viewing window
. > Tunnel stitch and calf's leather strap
. > Butterfly opening deployment system
.
Technical
. > Diameter: 44mm
. > Height: 9.7mm
. > Weight: 100g
. > Calibre: ETA 2824-2
. > Strap: Leather Strap - width 22mm
➢ Vibrations: 28800 per hour
As with my C40 Speedhawk I am totally blown away by the quality of this watch. It feels rock solid…nice weight and heft to it…it just feels well built. I love IWC pilots watches and have tried on and lusted after several of them for the last year but they are way out of my price range… I honestly feel this watch looks and feels JUST as good as an IWC (I know…that’s a bold statement but I mean it) for a fraction of the price. Very clear and easy to read dial and the hands and face just look positively gorgeous.
The back is very cool…has just a portal window so that you can see the heart beat and a drawing of a spitfire planes wing. I love how different that is from the typical exhibition back. The crown is a little oversized and has the CW logo on it...so does the clasp on the super soft leather strap…this thing wears nice and is very comfortable. It also has a trick pin removal system…there’s a little lever built into the spring bar that sticks out just a tiny bit from the inside…you just pull down on it and it retracts the spring and it’s off..literally takes 10 seconds to bet the band off…I’m definitely going to be ordering a dark brown strap from CW as well because it’s so **** easy to change!
Another cool feature I like is that the lume is nice blue color…I don’t have any other watches like it…I took a pic as best I could but it’s pretty easy to see and it lasts all night. Ok..enough of my blathering…I’ll end this by saying I could not be happier with this purchase…if anyone is on the fence on whether to get a Christopher Ward I can’t recommend them enough…they really do make a fantastic watch for unbelievable prices. Thanks for reading and hope you enjoy the pics.

Hi Shawn - I saw the C8 on WUS - glad you like it, it seems quite a few people did.

Nice pics of one of CW's best watches.

Excellent! Great pics of another great watch. Don't worry about posting something which everyone has probably already seen- we will never tire of looking at pictures of watches and it is good reading enthusiastic posts like yours.
