Isotope Watches (plus NEW RELEASE)

Post by missF »

I like Isotope Watches. They’re a funky small company producing a small range of cool pieces.

https://isotopewatches.com/

I was looking at their website again because they do a really classy (and cool) flieger - the ‘Old Radium Tobacco’, so I thought I’d post it here for you to have a look.

They’ve also just changed their logo, and seem to have managed it without a whiff of scandal or unhappiness

You say that but I suspect the ire was that severe it caused their forum to completely meltdown. I’ve searched for an Isotope watches forum and it seems to not exist, thereby proving my theory 100% correct…….
Iain’s Law: Any discussion on the Christopher Ward forum, irrespective of the thread title or subject matter, will eventually lead to someone mentioning the Bel Canto if the thread continues for long enough.

Hmmmm.... @iain - you’re right I guess - I think we really do have to accept from here on in that watch companies who change their logo are going to cause watchies (and entire forums) to disappear under gravity into their own black holes...

Thanks ALOT for the link Lindsay. I had not heard of that brand before and I very much like the gray and black Old Radium pilot in bronze. Nice to see the Landeron movement as well, an old and well respected manufacturer, far as I know. Pretty sure I have an old pocket watch of my fathers running a Landeron. And just when I was hoping to keep the collection under 20. The no date tobacco is nice as well, not sure what the markings next to the 3 and 9 are all about.
Time and money? I’ve spent most of mine on booze and women. The rest I just wasted…

Ah, I hadn’t noticed that the grey and black version doesn’t have the weird marks at 3 and 9. This makes it a more traditional flieger to me - the tobacco version with the 3 and 9 marks looks more like the heads up display of a drone tracking a UFO

The new release LE is now on sale. Fifty units only.
A memento mori watch without the skull

I love it. Makes me think and smile just like a skull watch should. I’d like to own a timekeeper that warns me of the passage of time even while it’s telling me the passage of time....

I wish I was brave enough to buy an Isotope, they are cool looking watches, but I'm not (sigh)

The bezel/dial on this one reminds me a little of the Unimatic ltd edition (Mr Porter) which I quite liked.
