Does this FLE have a bullseye dial or am I applying that term wrongly??
I'm not sure. I have heard the term bullseye when describing a watch with an outer ring that contains hour numerals. Dials that have rings with hour markers and a minute track are most often called sector dials.

I think the terms are squishy and interchangeable though.

Obviously I just like to be able to say things like ‘obviously this is a bullseye dial’ so I can pretend to know stuff

I don’t think there is much difference between the use of the words tuxedo or bullseye to describe a watch dial.

It is likely that over the years the dials to which the term has been applied has widened from the original intent.

Personally I usually associate tuxedo dials with UG or Rolex and bullseye with Omega.

The FLE could be described as either, with challenge only likely from pedants. :)

Perhaps this for an approach…

You are feeling in a 70s vintage mode - go with bullseye.

You haven’t memorised the reference number of the most recent Rolex models to use a tuxedo dial, but want to demonstrate your credentials to the Rolex devotees at the local GTG - go with Tuxedo (CW are after all the Rolex of the internet).

A quick question if I may but I’m not sure if you’ll know the answer yet.

Having seen the new dune with its applied logo, is the logo on this going to be similar albeit lined up with the dial pattern? This one is black whereas the dune is a brushed stainless steel but will how it’s applied and the taper from a narrower base to a slightly wider top be the same?

Here’s a dune photo to show what I mean.

We don't know the precise details of how it will look yet - we will see more when we get the sample dial. But I am expecting it to be broadly consistent with the logo on the Dune (which I think looks great), but the textured dial of the FLE will add additional challenges. But CW were confident they could cope with that when we were trying to finalise the dial.

We will definitely make sure that we are happy with the logo on the sample dial before proceeding. Hopefully this won't be too long in the future now.

Seeing the applied logo makes me want to rescind my trident pro 300 on backorder and purchase the FLE...

My heart hurts knowing there are so many good watches I must forgo for the one I have (or will have) in hand.
My wife thinks I have a watch problem. I'm a glass half-full guy, I think of it as a healthy interest in horology ;)

Now here is a thought…

If you like the FLE…

It is here today, gone tomorrow.

A Trident Pro 300 will be around for you to pick up later, if you still want one.

I have five Trident dive watches. I don’t have a limited edition Sealander with a black/white textured dial (but I will in May :)).

You know it makes sense. :)
